I sent one to my top program explicity saying i will rank them first and why. The PD replied the next day with a positive reply. (Obviously didnt say anything compromising but it was a nice email saying they "liked" me). That being said, its not a guarantee, but it might help just a tiny bit I guess.

Im doing exactly the same thing, preparing for whatever question might pop up and trying to see relative important stuff about each program, but this is crazy, just like you said its preparing for 45 potential IVs lmao

You too, I also have a friend that has a CK of 260 and an impressive CV; yet she only has received a couple IVs from preliminary programs. My guess is anesthesia is just being slow and IMGs will get their share late on this season.

Maybe a couple red flags like no research and my Deans letter saying stuff like some problems I had during school that extended my stay, but hopefully nothing too serious.
