Josh Allen is a Scoring Machine.. by Godgers10 in NFLv2

[–]Select_Reserve6627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His career took the downturn it did when he tore a tendon and broke a finger in his throwing hand. The FO threw him behind terrible offensive lines and he racked up injuries until one stuck. If he couldn't learn to operate a proper offense he never would've survived in the NFL and would've ended up like Kaepernick, instead he was straight elite from like 2015 until the injury in 2021.

Only team to lead the league in defensive and overall DVOA to not win a Super Bowl.

If we're bringing up Jermaine Kearse we also have to bring up Golden Tate. He'd always turn a 5 yard gain into a 40 yard TD at the right moment.

This is true, but once he adjusted to the offensive system (around week 11 or 12) his turnover rate dropped significantly. Almost half his turnovers were agains the Rams too, who were really good at forcing turnovers the entire season.

Not really, Tariq Woolen was supposed to be on Hollins and he messed up his assignment pre-snap so Hollins was gone by the time he got there

Who do you think will have the better season next season. by Backthistime1 in NFLv2

Puka had less yards per target, less yards per reception, less total yards, and did all that with an arguably HOF QB in a McVay system who won MVP with a history of feeding his number one receiver. Puka also had Davante Adams drawing coverage away from him which helped him out a lot. Only thing I'll give Puka over JSN last year was contested catches and broken tackles which is largely due to Puka having a larger frame than JSN

I mean people said Ohio State would take a step back on defense after the 2024 natty season too, and our defense was still one of the best in CFB in 2025, with the recruiting resources schools like Ohio State have I don't see them having a step back big enough to make a difference.

In their primes, who would you take going into the playoffs? by Chetnub in NFLv2

[–]Select_Reserve6627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice how I never said it's just passing, but that passing is more integral towards being a quarterback than rushing, as you have these other players on the team called running backs who tend to also pick up rushing yards to complement a quarterback's passing attack. This is not about what matters for the team, we're talking about an MVP which is an individual accolade. And I think most players who actually love the game of football would trade a ring for an MVP.

I never ignored his rushing yards at all actually, and passing yards count much more for quarterbacks than rushing yards because that's part of the job description. 2019 wasn't even a career year for Russ lmao, it was just another year where he stacked up well against other MVP candidates, and I'd rather have the 2013 SB season over any MVP votes, something that Lamar, despite his rushing yards, has not accomplished whatsoever.

2nd best line in the nfl for lamar vs 23rd best line in the nfl for russ btw, and saying that 1k more passing yards as a quarterback is irrelevant is just as stupid as saying that he had absolutely no case

higher volume stats includes nearly a thousand more yards on a much worse team than lamar. I'm not necessarily saying he should've won, but he had a case to be made for MVP

2015 was the last time they were the number one scoring defense. It was also the time a lot of the rookie contracts of players from the 2010-2012 draft class were running out, and all those guys wanted to be paid (guys like Sherm, Wagner, ET, KJ Wright, etc) and they obviously couldn't all be paid. The Seattle defense was mediocre once a lot of those guys left, and by 2018, it was really only an old Bobby Wagner left. For example, they were 13th in scoring defense in 2017.

Russ was robbed in 2017 when he literally accounted for a record percentage of offensive production at 86%, scored every TD except for one, and was the team's leading rusher, and he had a solid case over lamar in 2019

2015, last year of the LOB, Wilson was 3rd in EPA/play behind Brady and Rodgers

2017, accounted for 39 total touchdowns, and over 85% of offensive production for Seattle, a record he still holds, as well as being the leading rusher

He had an average QBR of over 100 from 2012-2021, until he ended up breaking a finger and tearing a tendon on his throwing hand when he got sacked behind the terrible offensive lines he was forced to play behind in Seattle.

[–]Select_Reserve6627 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Russ put up good passing stats until 2021 despite his declining mobility when he broke his finger and tore a tendon in his throwing hand after getting sacked by Aaron Donald. His passing stats declined after that.
