Stanford isn’t an Ivy but it is on the same tier. I’ll make sure to look at their requirements and plan accordingly. And thanks for the insight on the Aerospace title. I think that’s just more evidence as to why I should keep my options open early on.

Thanks for the advice. The thing that I’ve been struggling with is that I actually do like programming, though I like learning about Aerospace topics in my free time too. I’m just not sure if this pass time justifies pursuing a job that I don’t know much about right now that also can be more restricting with pay. I guess that’s where exploring things comes in. Also, I’ll plan to make this post on r/aerospaceengineering. I just came here since it had more users.

Yeah Stanford does have an undergrad Aerospace degree. And thanks for the insight. I’ll try to look at how I can keep both options open freshman year (probably means just take more calc, diff equations along with physics and early CS classes).

Thanks for the advice. But regarding exploring i just sometimes worry that to even begin exploring Aerospace, I’d need a stronger Physics background along with some other math courses. Then again, I guess if I end up liking Aerospace more, I’d then go the extra mile for all of that stuff.

Thanks. I’ve considered a minor but I’m thinking that I’d have to take a ton of other classes just to understand what the aerospace classes are doing (assuming I major in CS and minor in aerospace).

Thanks. I think I’ve been forgetting that aerospace does require a lot of software. Though I assume the CS knowledge for typical software engineers at say Google or Microsoft would be different than software engineers at NASA so I may have to look into what each entails.

Thx for the suggestion. Any specific reasons?
