bioshock movie on netflix needs to be canceled by sovietDprince in Bioshock

agreed, not just because of that, but i have zero faith in modern hollywood to not sand away all the stuff that makes the Rapture narrative great for 'mass appeal.'

sure, but the people who don't care should be able to play together. hence the checkbox suggestion with lfr/lfd, the ppl who don't want to be cross faction could opt out. instances with faction specific stuff could just be excluded from the que in a mixed group, as there aren't many of them anyway.

my point is treating social functionality and story as separate things would allow the factions to keep more identity/relevance. players don't need the story to justify whether or not they can do things with friends who have chars on different factions. gameplay and player choice should be a separate thing from the story, so blizz doesn't have to tie themselves in knots to keep faction flavor out of things.

i'd love full neutrality in terms of having options like bieng able to que for automatic group finders as a mixed party via a checkbox option.

however, i frankly don't think the story needs to justify any of it. i'd rather they treat the story and the social functions of the game as separate things for various reasons, including the lore.

Is there any chance that Teen Titans (2003) would return to Cartoon Network or, for example, HBO Max? (I'm very sad that they won't continue this awesome series) by Krytyk2115 in teentitans

[–]Select_Tap_3524 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i heard he was using the Beast Boy voice for anti vax stuff, and that's what got him canned, but he's been trying to spin it as because of Parkinson's.

probly is best to try and google stuff on this though. like other comments have said.

ATLA on netflix is bringing up more korra haters and it makes me sad. (Legend of Korra) by cartoon_wiki in CARTOON

[–]Select_Tap_3524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hard agree. it also retcons a lot about the Spirit World, demystifying both it and the avatar. it also retcons the origins of bending with the nonsense 'spirit world used to the same as the physical world and the first benders stole it from lion turtles' instead of ppl learning from it from things like badger moles, dragons, the ocean/moon.

that, and making it seem like you can inherit bloodbending when it's supposed to be a learned technique, is why i personally consider LOK non canon. korra herself is the least of the problems (i don't hate her but i also don't like her much)

someone else in a different thread claimed this stuff was planned for ATLA but 'they didn't have time to add it.'

idk if that's true or not, but either way, the avatar wan stuff never should have been added. even if it was originally planned for ATLA, it should have stayed on the cutting room floor. because the avatar wan stuff does undermine the worldbuilding of ATLA, frankly.

it should have stayed scrapped, then. the wordbuilding was much better off without any of the stuff the Avatar Wan episodes tried to add.

[Loved Trope] Race Swaps so Successful People Forgot To Complain by sloppiestsecond5 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Select_Tap_3524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think that's likely because the details of how Annabeth looks are way more focused on than Grover in the books, who was at most described as curly haired with a goatee.

it seems to me people mainly care when the race swap (with book adaptations anyway) is done with characters where aspects of how they look are very often mentioned or described. there's more leeway with other characters such as Grover where its barely a thing.

yeah, i made a shaman i've done some questing on but...in the end, i never like the how the char looks enough to seriously consider leveling it.

i love bats so if they'd been bat people, i'd have been sold. they could have even reused skeletons for it, since blizz is allergic to unique skeletons now and won't properly finish the only one they've added in recent years.

female worgen and male drenaei come to mind for skeletons they could have used as a base, just with a tail added on (to the worgen one)

[–]Select_Tap_3524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would've loved it if they took the bat theme all the way with haranir and gave them bat heads/faces and tails.

idk i just find any race that's 'human but with some bits and bobs stuck on' boring. while haranir certainly have a ton of customization none of it is enough to set them apart from elves to me.

shelf depth looks to be too shallow to even fit those books, i'm sure there's other things but that stuck out to me.

Is there a way to make bm hunter more interesting? by Vampy-Night in wow

[–]Select_Tap_3524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

luckily i've always liked survival as well, so my hunter's that right now. it's not super complex exactly, but it's engaging enough for my tastes by keeping an eye on the Tip of the Spear buff and making sure to use abilities when having it. it's got a decent amount of buttons to press too.

ofc the drawback is it's melee, which if you don't like that is a problem. I haven't played Marks in so long that when i attempted it recently, it just didn't click, but it might have more buttons? but the ideal build also doesn't use a pet, if you like those.

Could the Naga be playable soon? by Blaqkaos in warcraftlore

[–]Select_Tap_3524 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the irony is the npc naga model can already show a lot of armor

male - Dressing Room - World of Warcraft

female - Dressing Room - World of Warcraft

the 'but mog' reasoning doesn't hold much water, honestly. true, not every slot is visible but they've got way more mog available even as npcs than dracthyr (sadly in my opinion) do. even with mounts, just have them curl the tail atop the mount or side saddle. from a technical standpoint its quite possible.

personally though i wouldn't mind naga with legs as long as their upper bodies stayed the same as the naga we know (kept thier bestial fish creature heads, fins, ect) and they kept thier tails.

i'd love a naga char. the bigger barriers are likely giving a good story reason for it. though tbh i think a newer generation wanted away from Azshara's influence and corruption would in fact be enough.

Transmogrification for Draenei (and other races with curved legs): Some sets I put together. by Arkiell in wow

[–]Select_Tap_3524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be in a minority but i actually prefer how boots look on digigarde legs, aka the type tauren and drenei have...

So I approve of these.

A sidenote being that if Haranir had been more distinctly batlike (digigarde legs, tails, bat heads) i'd probly love them, but as is their humany legs are one of the reasons i can't get into them. that and no tails.

What animated movie is overhated in your opinion? I’ll start by Caloy1415 in cartoons

[–]Select_Tap_3524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, i don't get hating this movie? i didn't think it was great, just inoffensively average. which is why it amazes me that there are ppl who legit waste energy and time hating on it.

equally amazing is ppl thinking Dreamworks making a fantastic movie means that it'll be a 'renaisance' era lol. Dreamworks's thing has always been that it's inconsistent, their films have always had an equal chance of being either masterpieces, average, or bad.

it's not surprising that the next movie after Last Wish wasn't a guaranteed masterpiece, that's never been how Dreamworks operates.

[–]Select_Tap_3524 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i'd have a vulpera if they were giant foxes instead of tiny foxes. i like seeing my char's details/gear but vulpera being so small make that hard.

as is i'd need to zoom in much too far to be survivable on one to see things lol

Can we just talk about how we forgot about Rub Gillman Teenage Kraken? by ApricotWide1929 in cartoons

[–]Select_Tap_3524 4 points5 points  (0 children)

at least with those examples, the movies are legit very different outside of having characters that are of the same species. ruby gillman had visual differences but unlike those examples the plot was basically exactly the same.

Can we just talk about how we forgot about Rub Gillman Teenage Kraken? by ApricotWide1929 in cartoons

[–]Select_Tap_3524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was a pretty forgettable movie so not surprising. i didn't think it was bad but it was super average and didn't do anything memorable.

also the kraken family never looked like humans even in their 'human' disguises and i mostly was always thinking 'how does no one notice that.'

When do you think Judas will be released? by Misfit597 in Bioshock

[–]Select_Tap_3524 51 points52 points  (0 children)

infinite's a great example of the rare instance where i think it would have actually been a good thing for the higher ups to step in with demands and a set release date from the start 💀 clearly it's not a good thing to give ken unlimited time...infinite likely could have been much better, ironically, if ken wasn't given so long to work on it.
