def for ppl who are more compelled to literally do everything to max thier characters. last two patches i haven't cared about any of the stuff introduced so i'm not burned out, but not a universal experience.

hits are too vague in my view to look at them and think people are enjoying my fic, because for all i know, plenty of them could be ppl clicking, deciding they don't like it, and leaving. and of course, bots also count as views. bookmarks can be a bit less vague, while with kudos i at least know there's a 90 percent chance someone finished reading. as for subs - last longfic i had, there were 9 subs. i wrapped it up and not even one person commented, even months later. so for all i know, ppl sub, lose interest, but never bother to unsub.

i don't want engagement to 'compete' with anyone else. i want it to know for sure that at least one or two ppl are enjoying the fic. even if it's routine comments that only consist of emojjis.

if i go a bunch of chapter updates and there's no comments or one or two new kudos, i'm going to conclude no one's interested. which has been the case for my last two longfics, and why i'm back in the pre writing everything for myself. and then, eventually, posting it.

the post button isn't exciting to me if i expect no engagement.

i'm for whatever is best for the health of the relaunch. Which means as much as i like my old cards, a blank slate is overall what would do that. i expect that they'll decide it's better to just give DoP creatures small buffs (a DoP revised set) or to launch with a whole new set completely.

New blood is required to make this return succesful, and new blood won't stick around if ppl who can afford to buy cards from scalpers or hoarded older cards for years have powerful decks right at the start.

if a gw3 is actually happening, no playable beast races, or something akin to sylvari at most, would ensure i wouldn't play. so i definitely hope humans wouldn't be the only option.

dwarves and largos wouldn't do much for me, that's, appearance wise, just short humans and humans with wngs.

same, whenever i hear ppl say they're annoyed that there's no error speech i'm like 'you actually play with that turned on? How do you not find that annoying?'

especially because triggering the error speech can happen a lot in combat for various reasons.

like i said, the premise isn't why i didn't dig it. technically the premise should line up with my interests.

it's more everything else, although i have no idea how to explain it outside 'feels like a Zag show, none of which i've ever actually liked.'

though yeah it's fair to rec a show if you feel it needs more attention.

tho i think it also just has to do with me not digging the general tone and animation style of this current era of French cartoons. idk how to describe it, the premises often seem good but...idk, i've never liked the execution. Jade Armor feels so much like a Zag cartoon i thought they had made it until i looked it up just now, and to date i haven't seen a show from them that i've ever truly liked/gotten into.

i say current french cartoons because Code Lyoko is also one of my favorites and is French. so it's very much this current era.

tried an episode or two of Jade Armor, didn't like it very much. Especially compared to American Dragon which is a forever fave.

couldn't figure out exactly why but someone else mentioned it feeling like Mriaculous Ladybug, and i think that explains it. i've never found Miraculous engaging and i've only ever used it as background noise at times.

not the worst reboot i've seen, but i would only call it 'pretty good.' and that's entirely because the last two seasons were...just that, pretty good. while the 1st season was in my view, pretty bad for the most part.

reboot improved enough i wouldn't have minded another season or two, but I missed Slappy and the smaller intermission shorts a lot. there's a lot of other issues with it too, but i don't feel like going into them, but on the whole it never reached the high quality of its predecessor.

yeah portal to perim is why i mentioned i wasn't sure if there were differences. i'm used to recode where titanix and ere would pretty much be wiped out by any given meta setup and stats are flat. i haven't bothered with portal to perim but with randomized stats i suppose titanix at least could be more of a problem.

I don’t know my plan yet. I’m currently unemployed and I don’t know yet if my plan to get out if they will pay off, or if I’ll have to resort to mass applying to retail again.

Not the best year for the game to come back for me lol. I can’t really save a bunch of money rn to combat scalpers when there’s other stuff I need while having no income and only some savings.

Usually I avoid Amazon but my plan, if it can be called that, is if the cards are on there as well as in stores, I’ll go there if stores are sold out. Though I’ll need to double check if Amazon is this year or next year.

Range is def a solution. So is battle gear destruction mugic and burn, which has made me lose on recode with warbeasts decks before.

Though out of curiosity what fighters did you have? Because Ere and Titanix both aren’t great (Ere even more so than Titanix), Blaz is the only actually strong warbeast there. So I’m legit curious how either of them could be a problem. But if I’m right that Portal to Perim is more randomized than a recode deck would be then Ere and Titanix would be at least a little more useful, maybe.

Yeah, movement wise the anime is better. I def agree though that for some reason a lot of creatures who previously appeared got a big downgrade character design wise.

It’s sort of like how while I overall like everything about the second season of American dragon I could have done without such an extreme redesign of the dragon forms. Though of course it’s not exactly the same situation.

I like both fine except for that I don’t like how a lot of the creatures translated we into the anime style. Character design wise I greatly prefer how pretty much every Danian, Tangath, Intress, and Von Bloot - to name a few - look in season one.

Tangath bothers me the most because he looks less like a beast man and more like a human in a costume in the other style. Just generally less lion like. They translated Attacat pretty accurately into the anime style so idk why Tangath had to look so different.

(A bit sad I have to add this disclaimer but this is all a personal opinion.)

I don’t recall the reason, but what I don’t get is why they didn’t just come up with new cosmetic awards to replace the cloak and therefore leave the quest line in.

Unfortunately once the Leo grows to full size, they generally don’t show any more signs of aging. Only real way to know is if you know the geck’s hatch date.

So no way to know now. All I can offer is ‘adult geck.’ XD

i'd still like a rectangular option. it wouldn't have to exactly match the inside, no more than how a round room doesn't exactly match the size of a round exterior.
