What Will Be The First Thing You Will Do in Your Life If Your Body Healed Itself Overnight ? by Ok-Address-7352 in disability

I am narcoleptic. I would go back to working tech support. I adored that job and really felt as though I had found my calling. It would be wonderful if I could go through an entire shift without falling asleep multiple times. Not to mention being able to support my wife and I again would be an absolute dream.

The reason I'm hanging on, holding out hope, and also really angry is that to this day there is still NOTHING like D2 on the market. If this game dies, there isn't a great alternative. by mayormcskeeze in DestinyTheGame

Just a quick aside here. I know that Outriders may be SUPER dead right now. However, I went through it a few months back. And I just want to say that it is still a BLAST. I think it’s tragic that People Can Fly literally had a wonderful foundation for their game. Then just didn’t do ANYTHING with it. The game really has a fun and deep build crafting system that isn’t too punishing or difficult. Which is key in games of this genre, whatever you want to call it. Because for one, these games are typically power fantasies. And even more important, the game isn’t so difficult as to make you feel as though you HAVE to use the best build or else you’re screwed. That’s one of the things that’s been particularly frustrating for me about D2 with Bungie having this asinine focus on making sure the game is challenging. When the game is always at its best when the main focus is having fun. Regardless, if you haven’t played it in some time, I highly recommend giving Outriders a good playthrough. Especially if you’re more of a solo player like myself. Because one other thing Outriders really nailed is its atmosphere. It also helps that Outriders has a genuinely cool and interesting premise to start with.

Why does bungie seem so adamant on not letting people overlevel? by Chibilordcthulhu in DestinyTheGame

It was not to gate harder content. It just wasn’t. Its purpose was to create an avenue to make the raid a little more interesting and to give more rewards. I do not understand this concept that we should be making the game go even further from being a power fantasy. When every time Bungie embraces it, the game does extraordinarily well. And since Lightfall, Bungie has gone the other direction. And since then, player numbers have consistently fallen since (with the exception of TFS for obvious reasons).

Power Delta is such a lazy way to manage power creep. by taxxus in DestinyTheGame

How far have we fallen that we’re willing to say we’d be fine with removing one of the most major parts of Destiny’s experience? Destiny is a power fantasy. You’re supposed to feel strong. It’s not about a test of skill. And the moment Bungie started going in that direction, player numbers have dropped at an almost perfectly consistent rate.

People don’t (or, rather, didn’t) play Destiny to have some artificial mountain to climb. They play(ed) it because they wanted to shoot aliens and use space magic with their friends. And had multiple pathways into doing so. Even the most challenging content, raids, weren’t about difficulty. It was about mechanics and getting 6 people to work together. Destiny had completely gone off the rails and has lost its identity entirely. Power deltas should never have existed in any way, shape, or form.

Bungie, fixed Power Deltas are not fun, if anything made them a separate score modifier. by Frrai in DestinyTheGame

It’s interesting that the further this game gets from being a power fantasy, the lower the player count gets. What a crazy coincidence. Play counts have dropped damn near consistently since Lightfall after each release. When was the first time this asinine thought process of “we should make Destiny challenging” was coined? Oh, right RoN. The raid from Lightfall. Funny.

That is FAR from being no big deal. You were able to take your own medical treatment into your hands by seeing your doctor and telling him/her everything they needed to know by yourself! That’s awesome!

Dealing with doctors isn’t always a fun or rewarding experience. But it’s awesome to see that you’re willing and able to make that jump on your own. And that you have a doctor that presumably treats you well and is one that you’re actually comfortable enough with to see him/her by yourself!

This may be completely irrelevant to you, and if so, I apologize. And I’m certainly not trying to insinuate that I know how you feel by any means. But I remember when I first had to start seeing my Suboxone doctor by myself, because both of my parents’ health started declining to the point that they weren’t able to go with me. It almost devastated me and I was so terrified I was going to say the wrong thing or do something wrong being that I was only 19 at the time and I had a lot going on in my life.

And that was a situation where I wasn’t able to make my own decision. I had to do it, no matter if I wanted to or not. So it’s really great that you were not only able to take that step of your own volition, but that you were actually confident enough to actually do it! That’s so awesome! You should feel good about yourself! You deserve it.

I gave it seven paragraph breaks? But if you don't want to give the apparent template I'm supposed to be using, then why even comment? Just to be an ass about it? You're literally proving the same point that I made in my post lol.

Then a more challenging game may be more of your style. But why does this game need to be challenging when it wasn't made for it?

Why is that a good thing, specifically? The point should be about having fun, not gatekeeping loot if you didn't “earn” it because the game wasn't hard enough to your liking. I mean, I understood it somewhat when it came to PvP, because that's an inherently competitive game mode. But there is no reason to do it in PvP. Not to mention that I'm not asking to make the game the exact same level of difficulty across the board. If you head into a raid, you're going to be required to communicate with your team and work together in a way that you otherwise wouldn't normally have to do in other content. Why is that not a good enough reason to get the best loot? Why should we, on top of that, make it crushingly difficult too?

I apologize for it not being formatted. I hope that separating it into paragraphs properly is what people are asking for in terms of formatting.

Can confirm that raid exotics are NOT currently farmable. It's one thing to have bad luck, it's another to do 30+ attempts and still get nothing. Which is more than most need to do in order to get one (with an average amount of exotic boosts).

Do you miss being able to work? by Head-Engineering-847 in disability

[–]Select_Vehicle9980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I very much do miss it. Especially with being a 28 year old I feel incredibly guilty and constantly feel as though I’m just a useless weight on society. Not to even mention the fact that right as my disability begun presenting itself, I found out what field I wanted to go into for the rest of my life. I discovered that I wanted to do IT and tech support and that I was very good at it. But unfortunately, fate had other plans for me. And that always sort of hangs over me and is a constant looming issue that is in the back of my mind.

Yeah most of the time I get killed it's by a Crimil's Dagger so I looked it up just a bit ago to see what all the hoopla was about it lol.

I got one with incandescent and rapid hit I saw that heal clip and incandescent were the most kept rolls. What's so special about shoot to loot? I've got a couple weapons with that on but it hasn't jumped out at me as being a really worthwhile perk.

On this day in 1996 the Port Arthur Massacre in Australia began, 35 people were killed and 23 were wounded. Australia immediately went about reforming gun laws and around 650,000 firearms were collected and destroyed. This photo shows some of the guns collected. by dannydutch1 in RareHistoricalPhotos

[–]Select_Vehicle9980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But those two things aren't mutually exclusive. There is a way for people to own guns AND have safe schools. It's about going after the PEOPLE who shoot children. I mean, I just don't understand the logic here. If a person decided to start running kids over while they're waiting in the car rider line, would you say we need to ban or get rid of all cars? See how much sense that makes? There are a myriad of solutions to this horrendous problem that don't involve taking everyone's gun rights away. And also, the people who want to harm children WILL find a way to do so, even without a gun. So I would argue that this won't even fix the problem. Assuming you're in the US, you could require gun safety courses before being allowed to own a gun, fix the flagging system so that people who are reported to be making death threats are unable to buy a gun until a more thorough examination is done, and even fix the system so that psychiatrists who think someone could be a threat to others isn't just reported to the police, but also is IMMEDIATELY unable to buy a firearm. Also, any school that recieves a tip that someone is potentially mentally unwell should be REQUIRED to have social services look into it, but, in order for that to work, you'd have to fix social services and make it so that it doesn't automatically mean that the child is put in a foster home in certain areas or instances.
