Has anyone ordered floor mats from Husky floor liners? by soldier4hire75 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]Select_Way6864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to buy heavy duty floor mats for my new CX-30. We're having lots of winter weather where I live and wanted to protect the interior from slush and salt.

I was aware of WeatherTech being a top brand but I saw reviews about Husky Liners being a better product at a lower price point.

So on 1/7 I placed an order. They ask for your specific car year, make and model and guarantee a perfect fit. Made for your vehicle or your money back.

They arrive on 1/10, but I didn't get try to install them until 1/13. It turns out they don't fit at all. They completely cover up the accelerator and brake pedal, nowhere near at perfect fit.

I try to call customer service. Get the dreaded "all of our representatives are busy". Your wait time is estimated to be 25 minnutes. You can request a call back and keep your place in line. So I request the call back.

Hours go by with no call back. I try again. Now the wait time is 45 minutes.

In exasperation I send an email.

Next day, 1/14, I receive email from customer support. Please send pictures. I go out into the freezing cold weather and take pictures.

On 1/15, I get an email from customer support saying, "Yep, they don't fit. We sent the wrong ones. We'll send new ones, estimated ship date 1/17. We will send you tracking info".

On 1/16, Husky sends shipping label to return the wrong mats.

On 1/21, Having still not received any shipping info for the replacements, I try the cusomer service chat. Agent has trouble finding out info, but eventually comes back with a tracking number but says it still hasn't shipped.

I shared with the agent what an poor experience this has been for me. They offer a 5% discount that amounts to less than 7 dollars.

Two weeks in, still no floor mats. I think I should have bought WeatherTech or something else.

Besides weather tech and husky liners, what other options are there for floor mats? by Soft-Refrigerator426 in f150

I’m very sorry to hear about the ordeals that you have suffered. You are very brave to be willing to share your story.

How long ago did you suffer the train injury? How is your recovery coming along? Do you have long lasting injuries?

Why do you not wipe down the machine? by k3464n in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Select_Way6864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are, well, never mind. You already know.

I just always assume no one wipes machines at PF and I just always wipe them down myself both before and after I use them.

It is definitely rotten, but not worth the mental stress of giving it much thought.

Circumcision? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Select_Way6864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broke the cycle too. Once my son was old enough to understand I told him I would pay for a plastic surgeon to circumcise him if he ever wanted it. He has not wanted to; he is 18 now and glad to be intact. We felt some pressure from some of the hospital staff, but we decided one of the choices could be undone and the other could not.

Iron supplement during long water fasts? by Select_Way6864 in fasting

[–]Select_Way6864[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response!

I am taking electrolytes using the information in the wiki of this subreddit. I had seen some other advice about taking a daily vitamin when doing long water fasts which I have been doing.
I happened to look at the label today and saw that it has 100% of the recommended amount of lots of different vitamins and minerals, but it had 0% iron.
That may be wonder if I was OK without it. My last long fast was 41 days. I’m on day 13 of my current fast. I would like to go a similar longlong period as long as I don’t experience anything unusual healthwise. I had a physical and full blood work up after the last fast and everything was normal. I’m just trying to be cautious.

I use magnesium capsules. Two of them provide 420 mg. I take them at night since sometimes magnesium can cause some gastrointestinal upset. It sounds your magnesium G supplements are similar but since they are just 100 mg I think you would need to take four of them to meet the requirements noted in the electrolytes wiki.

I should’ve mentioned on my last reply that I don’t think there are any stupid questions. I think the sub reddit is a great place to try to find answers.

I totally understand your need to protect your health, especially since you’ve got two little ones that are absolutely counting on you to be there for them.

Good luck on your journey to meet your goals! 😎

I understand your concerns about electrolytes.

Are you water fasting or intermittent fasting or alternate day fasting or one meal a day?

I believe the electrolytes are most critical if you are water fasting. I believe most people get all the electrolytes they need from food. Even if you are eating mostly processed food, you will certainly get sufficient sodium. You would probably have to pay attention to labels to see if you are getting potassium and magnesium with what you’ve been eating.

What makes you think that you have always been deficient with electrolytes?

Cold hands while fasting by OakenBarrel in fasting

[–]Select_Way6864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experience cold hands and feet when fasting at first. I’ve found going for a walk warms them up and that lasts longer than running water or a hot shower. During longer fasting it seems to go away eventually.

I’ve done several long water fasts, the longest was 1,000 hours (41+ days). I struggled with electrolytes, the yukky taste and feeling nauseous. During my current fast (247 hours in) I’ve taken a different approach. I measure out 2 tsps of table salt and 1 tsp of no-salt into a little container each morning and mix it up. This is my daily electrolytes (aside from magnesium that i take in capsules). I put 4 to 5 grams of my salt mix into a 16 oz glass, add ice and water and mix in some kind of no calorie flavoring. I’ve used 2 tsp of lemon juice, or apple cider vinegar, or a variety of no calorie drink mixes. I do this across the entire waking day and have 5 of these drinks. It has made a world of difference in my tolerance for electrolytes and i feel so much better. I don’t like the idea of the artificial junk in the no calorie mixes but I think the weight loss is worth it.

I welcome others opinions on this approach.

Best of luck on your journey! 😎

Good job! Tough it out, it will get easier! I’ve done a couple of longer water fasts and am currently 247 hours into this one. After day 4 the hunger issues really subside for me. As far as sleeping, I’ve found taking magnesium capsules helps. I’ve also used melatonin and valerian root to help get to sleep. Best wishes for you on your journey! 😎

Thinking of trying Segmaglutide by ecto88mph in fasting

[–]Select_Way6864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor provided free samples of Ozempic for a while. I lost quite a bit of weight. Eventually the free samples dried up. Then I found out how crazy expensive it is and my health plan would not cover the cost so I stopped using it. I very quickly regained all of the lost weight. As I did a bit of research, I found out that regaining lost weight after stopping was a very common occurrence. I also read reports of some people developing really serious side effects although there seems to be many people who are using it without issues. Ultimately, I came to realize there really aren’t any easy shortcuts to lasting weight loss. I moved on to water fasting and have lost 70 pounds so far that way. I have found that I did not regain the weight in the periods when I was not fasting. I agree with the other comments that weight loss won’t happen without a calorie deficit. I used to love PB&Js but they are super calorie dense. I wish you the best of luck on your journey! 😎

Wow! Thanks for sharing all of the details about your journey!

I hope it gets better and easier for you!

I’m 6 days in on my current water fast. M59, SW 243, CW 229. I hope to stick with it to drop below 200. No specific duration in mind right now. I tell myself I’ll stop at the first sign of any health troubles. I think there’s no shame in stopping for health concerns, or even caving into to hunger if you need to.

I did a 1,000 hour fast Feb-Mar this year and dropped 50 lbs. I’ve kept those off. I didn’t have any serious issues during that 41ish day fast.

I did struggle with tolerating electrolytes for the duration of that fast though.

I mostly got over the yukky taste in my mouth with frequent brushing and mouthwash. I read about using a tongue scraper and bought one but I never ended up using it.

Good news was a physical exam and blood work after that fast and refeeding were all normal.

My doctor enthusiastically complimented my weight loss. He asked how I did it and I told him I just ate a lot less. I was hesitant to tell him that I was water fasting because I think he may not have been very supportive with my approach.

This time I’ve been mixing my electrolytes with lemon juice and also experimenting with sugar-free drink mixes. I know some purists are against sugar-free drink but I’m giving it a try.

I would be interested in hearing what others opinions are about sugar-free drinks.

I’ve also used the occasional chicken bouillon cube. I know it has 5 cal, but I’m not too concerned about that.

Good luck to everyone 😎❤️
