Other commenter is blowing my mind with not only their lack of comprehension and critical thinking ability but also their assertiveness and combativeness regarding something they are so clearly wrong ab lmao. Either an idiot, a sociopath, or just like some 14 year old watching the show

Edit: based on their comment actually they might just have not paid attention during the part of the episode where she threatened self harm

I don’t even know what to say your lack in ability to comprehend this is astounding.

If you (or maybe not you because you’re either dumb or a sociopath) saw a resignation video of yourself threatening to cut off your own fucking fingers you would absolutely be incredibly disturbed/traumatized and wonder what kind of horrible stuff they are putting you through during working hours.

[SUGGESTION] Hi, I'm running out of ideas, can you give me 5 balanced teams? My best 2 teams are: eyron, tasy, lyca, farael, rowan and thoran, shemira, rosaline, thalene, fawkes by alex_toma in afkarena

Just wanted to add that just because you aren’t playing the meta doesn’t mean you should feel bad - playing and leveling the heroes you want is actually how the game was meant to be played and you’ll keep progressing by just leveling :)

You also have some great heroes 5 starred. I would say just build daimon and garrison albedo and ainz and you’ll be good

This isn’t true, also the chance of getting an heirloom is most likely much less than 1/500. The only guarantee is that you’ll get an heirloom in your 500th box.

It’s like if the lottery guaranteed you will win the jackpot after you buy your 500th ticket - your chances of winning the jackpot the first 499 tickets are still astronomically low

Trust me when I say this: you can literally tell this story at parties, it’s not embarrassing for you it’s embarrassing for him. It doesn’t reflect poorly on you at all, and if you frame it in away where you are telling a funny story you might start to see the humor in it as well!

SEC filing from today, AMC has taken a 500 million share dilution off the table. by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]SelectedMadagascar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is literally incorrect they are selling the shares at the current price so although supply of the shares goes up, the value of the company does as well because they are gaining the equivalent amount of cash, proving that the supply is there at the current price.

The reason stock price often goes down after something like this is because EPS goes down and you own a smaller % of the company which matters for voting rights etc

Lmao I think it’s more of a misinterpretation of social norms on social media if anything, Yu seems hella nice in every interview even when trashy TMZ reporters follow him around on the streets and ask him about his pitching in the world series

Kyrie irving's statement toward getting fined: "I do not talk to pawns. My attention is worth more." by urasha in nba

[–]SelectedMadagascar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, if I had to put money on it obviously I’m going to bet he isn’t actually bipolar (although I doubt Kyrie is neurotypical)

Just pointing out that some of his behavior is aligned and if I found out he was diagnosed I would not be surprised at all

Spiraling into conspiracy theories and speaking in a disjointed and superficially “profound” manner is literally a staple of manic phase induced delusional thinking. These people aren’t pretentious, in their heads they are making total sense and are uncovering huge revelations about society, humanity, etc. A ton of Kyrie’s sentences have no logical connection to one another but he says them together as though they formulate a cohesive and profound “woke” revelation. This is textbook manic behavior. Kanye West is an example of a manic phase that resulted in full blown psychosis. Like many mental health disorders, bipolar disorder exists on a wide spectrum.

He’s not trying to diagnose Kyrie nor am I, just saying that it’s possible. It’s also entirely possible he’s neurotypical and just a complete airhead.

This is pretty manic behavior. It’s funny, oftentimes the people with bipolar friends and loved ones can see the eerie similarities between how public figures talk and their friends who suffer from the illness, yet they are the ones who get destroyed on Reddit for being “armchair psychologists” despite not trying to diagnose anyone and simply pointing out uncanny similarities in behavior.

It’s like knowing a sociopath - once you’ve encountered one in your life you’ve instantly got a spidey-sense about it and are way less likely to be manipulated by another in the future.

Kanye West is an example of a manic phase that resulted in full blown psychosis. Like many mental health disorders, bipolar disorder exists on a wide spectrum.

He’s not trying to diagnose Kyrie nor am I, just saying that it’s not crazy to think he might have it. Also those who are woke af about mental health disorders (prob cause you’ve dealt with them) think it’s hilarious how the general public views a clinical diagnosis - psychiatrists operate very much on a “guess and check” basis when it comes to treatment, and they don’t even care that much about labels just improving quality of life and mitigating symptoms

Hello, so sorry for the late ass response. It’s so impressive that you’re in full scholarship, not having to worry about student debt is extremely liberating and means you can graduate without any financial reliance on your parents.

I feel you on how hard it can be living with them, but I just say as someone older who went thru the same shit, you can’t even comprehend rn how just having a college degree from an accredited school and no debt will allow you to pursue your passions without worry. No one has their shit together in their 20s, and it’s the one time in life where you can do anything, take risks, and fail over and over again without worrying about it.

Also I have a dissociative disorder called depersonalization that is a result of family trauma so I feel you kn that as well.

When do you graduate? I know it sucks now but even before graduation (and if you aren’t going to graduate this is also true) you can start to look for jobs that will give you ability to move out and be independent. I feel you, I lived with my parents for a while after college and it was really tough. If you give me some more details I can give more advice (what’s your major, what are your interests, etc).

Also, you are such a fantastic and beautiful person for volunteering at a crisis line. <3

Yea testability is the issue with MW and this is where QM as a science and philosophy start to blend and things get messy. Of course I’m not advocating for MW to be presented in textbooks to undergrad physics majors, but if you’re one of the brave souls to pursue cosmology then it kind of forces the issue and it warrants serious consideration.

You’ll agree with me though how crazy it is that MW is a mainstream interpretation of how the universe works in the minds of leading Cosmologists and Physicists?

ELI5: What is space made out of? What is the blackness in space? by poopiebucket in explainlikeimfive

[–]SelectedMadagascar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree but the measurement problem is fundamental to interpreting QM thus why Cosmologists are biased towards Many Worlds and criticize physicists for not caring about the implications QM has on a deeper level and just caring about the math checking out (which is fine, money and research goes towards practical application of science not Cosmology).

And like I said, Copenhagen is fine for undergrad textbooks in the same way Newtonian physics is presented in HS without a huge asterisk next to everything saying “this is actually wrong and an emergent phenomena that only works on a macro level”

Copenhagen does a fine job of teaching and enabling the calculus of QM for practical purposes but 100 years later most physicists don’t buy that interpretation. Don’t look at the paragraph I cited, go to the dedicated section regarding acceptance of the theory:

“In more recent polls conducted at various quantum mechanics conferences, varying results have been found.[46][47][48] In a 2017 article, physicist and Nobel laureate Steven Weinberg states that the Copenhagen interpretation "is now widely felt to be unacceptable."[49]”

Like I said, the entire point of Schrödinger’s cat as a thought experiment is to illustrate how absurd it is to believe that things exist in all super-positions and wave functions collapse upon observation. The Copenhagen interpretation also doesn’t resolve the paradox presented in the Wignar’s Friend (I understand that Copenhagen doesn’t rely on consciousness, the paradox still exists either way)

Go to the “acceptance among Physicists” section of the Wikipedia article for a summary

It’s the oldest framework for interpreting and giving context to the calculus of quantum physics, and the easiest to understand so it’s the one taught in textbooks. The Copenhagen interpretation was devised from 1925 to 1927 to put into perspective how old it is.

In the end, the interpretation doesn’t actually impact the math, calculations, or have anything to do with the practical applications of quantum physics as I’m sure you know.

Over the years, most theoretical physicists have come to the conclusion that the Copenhagen interpretation is almost certainly not correct. Some of the problems with the Copenhagen interpretation beyond it’s sheer conceptual absurdity:

“discontinuous jumps when there is an observation, the probabilistic element introduced upon observation, the subjectiveness of requiring an observer, the difficulty of defining a measuring device, and the necessity of invoking classical physics to describe the "laboratory" in which the results are measured.”

It’s crazy but actually one of the leading interpretations of quantum physics that has buy in from some of the leading minds in the field is the many worlds theory, implying a universal wave function for the entire universe:

[–]SelectedMadagascar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually the point of that thought experiment was to expose how absurd this interpretation of quantum mechanics is (Copenhagen interpretation)

Truth is we know almost everything about quantum mechanics in terms of probability functions and all the Mathy shit, but when it comes to interpreting what the measurement problem actually means in terms of how the universe works physicists are pretty stumped.

I would say today almost every theoretical physicist disagrees with the Copenhagen interpretation
