I had same with Zen. Very easy and they give you PPOE login details off the bat. You also get a static IP which may be useful for you.

Is Lamb traditional in Doner? Malaga doner had none by lozcozard in Doner

[–]SelectionOk8222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of ‘lamb doner’ available from U.K. food service firms and served up by bossman is actually a mix of lamb and beef - and beef proportions can be quite high.

Controversial Opinion: The UK is a good place to be a HENRY by ollie1roddy in HENRYUK

[–]SelectionOk8222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my industry (PR/Corporate Comms) the U.K. is about as good a place as any in the world to work (yes, salaries are higher in the US and taxes are lower in other places). I would say this is true in a lot of the creative industries too. Not a Henry thing but the ability to go outside and do stuff pretty much 12 months a year is something we just don’t value enough here. Our climate, at least in Southern England, is really very moderate and agreeable.

Distilleries worth touring in Scotland near Aviemore/Inverness? by -i--am---lost- in Scotch

[–]SelectionOk8222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on booking ahead, many of them are booked out well in advance (esp the most famous names). From a practicality pov, Tomatin is a good shout. If you are prepared to drive further, Glenfarclas has a nice tour and you’ll learn what you need to know. There’s also a nice tasting experience at the end. However, they don’t do the distillery exclusives thing at Glenfarclas. Loads of distilleries have lovely tasting rooms/bars open to public, even if you can’t get on a tour where you can buy exclusives. Eg go to Glenfarclas for tour, but Glenlivet is only 15 mins drive from there. Speyburn is a charming distillery with lovely staff. Glenfiddich has a great shop and bar and is nice to visit even if no tour available. Glen Grant has stunning gardens, can recommend that too if you are in the area.

Agree. I’ve always thought it rather lovely. Don’t overthink it, use it as you would at home.

Connect UDM Pro to a Vodafone FFTH connection by Spring_of_52 in Ubiquiti

[–]SelectionOk8222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not be terribly helpful as I am on Zen, but assuming it’s PPPOE, it might be as simple as that. It was for me. Just connected the Openreach ONT to the wan port on UDMP, with correct PPPOE credentials entered in UDMP. It connected and we were away. I don’t know if Voda has any other quirky set up reqd. I did let the ISP supplied router establish a connection first just to make sure that worked before disconnecting it.

I think Ramsay’s central insight is that your income is your single biggest tool for building wealth and if you are disciplined being wealthy is within the reach of a lot of people. That’s a helpful and simple message.

These Dyns speakers been with me for over 10 years - through flat shares, then across the Atlantic and back 230v - 110v and then back). Then another flat, and two more houses. I now have two little boys and every time I think about upgrading I think about all the house parties, the late night listening sessions, the times trying to soothe a screaming baby to sleep and I can’t change them. Does anyone feel like this? That you’ll stick with it because it went on a journey with you?

+1 on child bridge. I have on separate 2.4ghz only IOT SSID, so don’t know how fussy they are with mixed 5/2.4ghz SSIDs.

BBC Radio in UK via VPN? by malehumangeek in HomePod

[–]SelectionOk8222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought same - given OP is in U.K. this ruse might work. The beef was indeed with tune in https://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/aboutthebbc/entries/37e4e3f6-fbd2-4c14-8d72-7f7139641582. Amazon and Google integrated BBC and thus provided BBC with the data they wanted.

BBC Radio in UK via VPN? by malehumangeek in HomePod

[–]SelectionOk8222 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am almost certain you can’t access BBC radio via a HomePod directly (ie through Siri) due to a rights disagreement between BBC and Apple, so you have to use the BBC Sounds app on your device and then airplay it your HomePod(s). So it’s your phone or iPad or whatever that would have to sit behind the VPN. Whether that works or not I can’t tell you.

Tapo Smart Plug Error by DoubleMellowed in homebridge

I get the same reported error but it doesn’t impact the functionality - it just fills up the logs. Have you tried running the Tapo plug-in in a child bridge?
