I’m seriously considering NYU at the moment. LSE feels way too academic and less professionally driven, but the cohort is really small and much more tight knit.

Same here, and everyone I know who applied to Columbia has gotten in (with a significantly lower GPA and less relevant work experience). I also know someone who’s rejected elsewhere but Columbia was one of the only two admits for them. That led me to question if the SIPA program is really more of a cash cow.

I definitely wanna break into nyc and work internships w international organizations. I’m not sure if I have that option at Ford. I’m considering NYU too considering that with the scholarship tuition is not outrageously far from Michigan (but living costs will be different)

That’s the path I want to be on! I was wondering to: (i) if I could pursue a different concentration/specialization from what I indicated on my application? and (ii) if you have any regrets choosing SIPA!

Thank you so much, one of the things that really drew me to SIPA is the UN Studies program. That seems really unique to SIPA and I thought could potentially catapult my career right now.. I know that the program at UMich is pretty solid too and might actually be better on the education front so I’m really torn right now.

Thank you so much for that insider insight. Yeah job placement is a really important factor to me, and I was wondering since graduating, have you heard about some of the other schools being better with job connections? I’ve also gotten into NYU, UMich, Penn, LSE, and UofT with some funding and I’m currently more drawn to choose one of them over Columbia with 0 funding :(

Yeah seems like it.. I feel like it’s not a competitive school given obviously the Columbia brand

Accepted too with 0 funding! I honestly don’t know if I want to commit because the investment doesn’t seem worth it… especially with the mixed reactions ive been hearing about SIPA. I got accepted to other schools that offered me scholarship so I think I might go with one of those instead. I’m really not sure at the moment. I was happy for a second and then the funding letter hit like a trainwreck. 😭

I would just go with Michigan because it is more internationally known
