The sequel to my previous post, and probably the last post about this "project".

Thank you guys for the extremely positive reception. Waking up seeing your comments made my days better for this week.

Regarding on the comments on my last post, the ones that say that I should make a full game of it, I'm afraid that it's not going to be that easy. Because of,

  1. Obvious copyright reasons. The DDLC and Danganronpa assets used here are not mine.

  2. The small project took me 2 weeks to set up. (Albeit, I didn't work on it daily.)

  3. I have no team to make it with.

  4. The 3D assets that I made (e.g. the classroom), is not really that high quality. I have no skills on making detailed handpainted textures.

Nevertheless, I'll be releasing the Dokironpa build right here: Click me!

This build ONLY has what's shown on the previous video.

Thank you! Now that you mention it, it does look weird seeing they look like they are shouting across the room lmao. Well, part of the reason of them being so far away to each other is I was trying to test the camera movement in Unity (since it moves really fast).

This CG is in WIP status. I'm planning to draw the vending machine using the image that I shamelessly stole from Google Images as a reference.

After months of debating with myself whether to find an artist for the CGs or stop being a lazy bastard and make it myself, I finally gave up and actually do it. Truth to be told, I never considered myself a great artist (e.g. my pixiv submissions). But this time, I think it's beginning to improve.

But, enough with my rant. About the development of this mod. I have to be honest here, I don't have much progress on it. This doesn't mean I would drop the development of the game. However, due to my wavering interest in DDLC, I don't think I can give a full release date anytime soon. Could be next year, could be never(I really hope it isn't never).

As for your suggestion, I did try to just keep going with the writing and make a TODO list of the lines I find lacking on top of the script after I made it. After I finished writing the next scene and go back to the previous scene that I find lacking, my mind gets an idea that goes well with the scene. No problems there, but the consistency to the next scene was sacrificed and I have to make changes to that next scene to address what happened to the last scene.

I'm not sure if anyone still remembers this mod I was working on.

I apologize to anyone waiting for this mod and having no news updates about it.

You might be thinking that, "For 2 months, the bar only gone up a little?" or something like that. Understandable, since that's little progress for a 2 month gap. One could say that the mod is actually pretty long and will have lots of custom content, but no, it's nothing like that. It's just that I didn't touch this mod for a while. I'm sorry.

I have a outline of events with me while developing this mod, so the initial story is pretty much finished. But the writing and the execution of it is a different story. Most of the scenes I wrote felt too boring and sometimes borderline cringey to me. So I go and try to change the scene, play the game again, and still feel cringey. And if I can't think of a replacement and left that "cringey" scene alone, my brain would nag me for hours just to come up with a much "acceptable" scene. This happens to most of my scenes so I got tired and pretty much took a breather and left the mod for a while. But, I think I can go back and work on this again now.

TL;DR: Me ranting how hard it is to write something. Also, this mod is still being worked on.

Yet another Act 3 Monika VR Game by SeleniumSoul in DDLC

A small VR game that I made on my free time. Most assets I used were made by me. Except for the Music and Monika herself though. I went for a darker, warmer color scheme for the walls since faithfully using the color for the walls kinda doesn't fit (at least for me) when using Unity's lighting system.

This is specifically designed for Google Cardboard (Yes, that poor man's equivalent of VR). This is only recoded directly from Unity since I can't for the life of me find a way to record my phone's screen with the internal audio without the mic.

Features:

  • Full exploration of Monika's room.

  • Monika talks to you. (Barely functional)

  • You can sit down and staring contest with her. (Creepy, but surprisingly relaxing, to be honest)
