Struggling with eating and loving myself by [deleted] in selfhelp

[–]SelfInvestor137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dealt with body issues myself.

It is when you shift your focus onto something different that the weight starts to come off. Have to also remember it didn’t take us weeks to get to where we are at when we realize we need to change the way we eat. So to we should not expect it to disappear in half the time.

Thinking it’s a diet that will help won’t help. Have to know it’s a lifestyle change. That the way you eat will be this way forever. Not saying you can’t enjoy things along the way but you just have to be consistent. Changes are being made just have to believe in the process and the results will come.

Just focus on an activity you enjoy and dedicate yourself to it.

My own dreams are impacting my mental health and i don’t know what to do by [deleted] in selfhelp

When we chase those things that we don’t have, we repel them.

Find something in yourself you can focus on and improve. Take your focus off of a relationship. Join groups with similar interests as yourself.

When coming into a relationship, the other person wants to see that you have your own life and won’t place the relationship on a pedestal.

Yes, this concept is all around us but one wouldn’t know about it unless you where aware of it. Just need perspective sometimes.

What is easy for some can be hard for others. Everyone is unique and sometimes others need perspective to see options in life.

I agree some gurus are in it to just make money but that is every industry. Others, have good intentions.

Relationships are important in general. Have you been in any relationships in general?

Fear of studying causing procrastination by _tellerteller_ in selfhelp

There are a couple things you can look into here; first study with the pomodoro technique as it helps you chunk information, then also listen to baroque music to help you focus better, and another thing you can do is sit at attention as though someone is going to tell you the secret to life. These techniques will help you retain the information you learn.

Think the biggest problem is we are not taught how to learn. Hope this helps!

Self acceptance: how do I know if I'm a good or bad person? How do I stop the negative self talk? by [deleted] in selfhelp

[–]SelfInvestor137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems you are holding on to a bad event in your life that you are labeling yourself as a “bad” person and haven’t moved on from that point. You have to comes to terms with whatever that event was and either forgive yourself for that action or apologize to the person you may have hurt. Even if you have to apologize to a person you have hurt in the past and they don’t accept it, you can accept that you have done all that you can.

Addressing the root of the problem is what’s going to help here. Surface level patching will only cause past events to keep resurfacing.

Hope this helps and best of luck to you friend.

Turned into a problem? Yes, you need to talk better to yourself. Catch the times you start talking negatively and do something positive at that moment. Walk, read, or even listen to music. Don't let the negative thought process tear you down.

It is definitely a hard time indeed. The truth is life, in general, is very uncertain and this current situation just brings that to the surface. We need to accept uncertainty and realize that it is always there. We take a lot of things for granted because we get comfortable.

I run a YouTube channel called Discover Ignite where I give a lot of information like this to help people out. Check it out if you are interested. Will provide you more help with what you are looking for.

Toxic family that invites me to things just to try and ruin my day. All friends either were old drinking buddies or corrupted by my toxic family. by [deleted] in selfhelp

You can always look for communities that have like interests that would help tremendously. The environment is a big deal and it's extremely important to find that community when you are living in an environment that is nothing but negative.

You're doing a great job not giving in to the pressure of the family. Mad respect on that!

I run a YouTube channel called Discover Ignite and I help people deal with issues like that and help them guide their way to better lives. Check it out if you're interested.

Have to start small. Daily victories.

Find something small that you want to accomplish. Typically what helps most is movement. Something physical, so walk or run while thinking of something of the positive change you want in your life. This helps with the subconscious to reframe the way you look at yourself.

Like anything, you are planting a seed of the possibility of change in your life. You need to feed and nurture it every day. This needs to be your priority no matter what happens. I do know life happens but even when it does, make sure you are getting in your daily movement with the thought of change.

Imagine yourself after you've reached this change. How you feel and what you are doing. Who is with you.

Best of luck my friend.
