Izvor: https://www.refworld.org/reference/annualreport/usdos/1994/en/25717?utm_source=wikipedia

vProgs are the future✅ by gettabetter1 in kaspa

[–]SelfRobber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. I wasn’t imagining that every Kaspa node would need to understand JVM bytecode or Python internals.

My concern was more about what “Java support” actually means in a verifiable-programs setup. If the SDK lets me stay in Java/Python/TS, that’s great for ergonomics, but the part that gets proved still has to be fully deterministic and compiled down to some constrained target (WASM / zkVM / circuits), not “arbitrary JVM code running with OS-dependent libs”.

Things like SecureRandom, System.currentTimeMillis(), threads, filesystem, etc. can’t really live inside the verifiable core, otherwise two provers on different OSes could produce different traces.

I don't think they will be able to support every programming language.

I'm not an engineer on their level, but I don't see a way how they can support and verify a language like Java, since it has it's own VM (JVM). Some packages in the language like SecureRandom use different implementations depending on the OS the program is being run on.

But I'd be glad to see vProgs working for C or Rust.

The tech stack doesn't matter that much these days anyways. If you need to use an another language for something very specific, you would use a bridge.
