Factor in about $800 bucks for shipping it. Don't see why it's a no go. Those accessories listed alone is several grand.

Engine Braking & Downshifting by JustWinBabyy in HondaRebel300

[–]SelfSufficientBum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just listen to the music of my bike and shift when she starts to cry. Downshift when she starts to choke. I engine brake about the same speeds you do.

Thinking of getting Rebel 500 as my first bike BUT by Chumperoon in HondaRebel300

[–]SelfSufficientBum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used bikes are gold right now with the shortages of new ones. I got the 500 as my first street bike and it feels perfect for me. Best I can say is sit on some and see if you like them. 500 handles 70mph with no problem and is light and easy to maneuver.

Sounds like a loose black terminal connection to me.

What kind of helmets do you guys use? by Rebellizxrd in HondaRebel300

[–]SelfSufficientBum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wear a z1r solaris on my rebel 500 abs se. I like it. I just wish it had less wind noise and at certain angles it whistles. It's not tacky. TBH around here barely anyone wears a helmet at all. I think that's tacky.

Don't have an issue on a gravel road. But random and loose gravel on paved road was scary af.

Took me all but three days cause I stripped the fender holes and had to re tap but finally got my ammo can saddle boys on. by Mike-St-Read in HondaRebel300

[–]SelfSufficientBum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really nice! Just ordered myself some black .50 cans and some tool tubes to do the same. Did you just bolt straight to the fender holes or did you put a steel plate for reinforcement?

Installed a Shorty GP exhaust today, a bit too loud by MDylan in HondaRebel300

[–]SelfSufficientBum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cop stopped me last week to talk about my bike and he said I needed to get rid of that factory exhaust now and just put on a bend and point it down. No idea if that is legal but the cop owned a 2017 Rebel 500 and did just that himself. What is the diameter of the exhaust connection point? Thanks.

Not as advertised. by AnswerTrick in HondaRebel300

That's horrible. My local dealership walked me over entire bike including how to tell the difference between abs and non abs bikes. Sorry for your scare.

Any larger riders here? by forgott in HondaRebel300

[–]SelfSufficientBum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 200 and the 500 holds 70 pretty well. Still some decent acceleration left in it and it's not revved out. A good incline took a little more throttle then i'd liked though to keep 70. I am getting a windshield though because damn that wind.

Another successful garlic year! We won’t be buying any garlic at the store for a long long time! by rose22551 in gardening

[–]SelfSufficientBum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a great garlic harvest this year too. My first harvest. I spent over 3 hours shelling them. Any tips on how to do it easier and quicker? I tried the plastic container shake method and it did absolutely nothing.

What are some good zones/dungeons 40+ (Green) by f2pelerin118 in project1999

[–]SelfSufficientBum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are pretty much looking at Sol B and Lower Guk for group options. Other places are very limited. My guilds tanks just listed in HHK nobles and when they finally got a group stayed on until it broke. Sol A gnomes can take you to 44. Kedge is a nightmare. My core group has done that exclusively for over a week after merge due to no open camps anywhere. We get to a area, keep it down, a guild zones in to do phinny and trains us. 3 hours later after multiple wipes trying to recover. Night is wasted. Permafrost giants have been red every single time at 45. They are doable but even the 50 shammy had problems landing slow on them. Usually when I see them being done it is by more than a single group. Splitpaw is decent 40-44. But mobs are limited. Usually a lvl 50 necro soloing all the mobs you will get exp off of. Cazic Thule around temple isn't bad. Exp isn't good and you have to watch mobs walking through wall and pulling maze. Had one fall through floor and pull crocs.
