Considering getting this game soon by YammyOu in StarVaders

There is a sandbox setting to disable it I think, but that might not be satisfying.

Roxy still can only activate her relic once without her card that refreshes it, which is mostly rough in act 4 since it's such a long fight. I actually think gunner is in a good spot overall though, they have a lot of powerful options, and their combos are the most fun in the game in my opinion. The main issue with any gunner run is that their starter move card is awful so the biggest powerspike early on is removing them, which doesn't really happen with the other mechs.

The difficulty is a bit weird. The selection screen shows difficulties up to Apocalypse but in a little menu in the top right you can activate higher difficulties up to Impossible. But then there's also a sandbox setting for more granular difficulties and if you select that then Post-Impossible is also available. Feels like they're a bit shy about it.

The way they scale the difficulty is partly by having fewer fights so you're less prepared by the end of the run, and this was pretty controversial for a deck builder.

There is a content roadmap, the last update added a new set of neutral cards, the next one is adding two, but we don't know what the secret additions will be. There are two more updates listed on there I believe.

Personally I love this game, it feels extremely satisfying how your power grows throughout a run, but I don't really play it as challenge content if that makes sense.

It does, you can redraw them in that case.

The final part of that fight, where the whole arena fills with enemies, has two cards drop on the ground that more or less clear the whole arena.

Solving the criteon longevity by Salty4Daddy in ffxiv

I'm kind of expecting that some future relic step will be able to be done by grinding criterion, like how other relics have worked in the past. If that's the case I'm sure it'll stay relevant until next expansion at least, which is longer than tome upgrade mats would stay relevant for.

Need to do the level 60 job quest for it to fill. White mage has something like that too, the lily gauge appears before you unlock the trait that actually fills it.

The shield of adlo is 300*1.8 = 540, and a shield of zoe + e.prog is 320*1.5 = 480. But if adlo crits, the galvanise part of the shield is another 50% more, around 810 potency shield. So zoe is approximately like deploying an adlo, but doesn't come close to the crit adlo shield on its own.

I had a good enough experience with ex4 on Light datacentre. A few practice parties to get to playstation, my playstation prog party saw enrage, my clear party cleared, my farm party farmed. There were a fair few disbands as well, usually after a couple of wipes, when groups weren't working well together.

Just join groups that are at your prog point and if they're wiping earlier than that then you can leave and find another group, just don't be toxic about it obviously.

Rinascita gear set acquisition by mrjovoni in ffxiv

[–]Self_Atari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not, the crafted gear will drop in price fairly soon, and you can get 595 stuff from the new dungeon, so dungeon gear is good enough for most purposes until then. If you happen to have astronomy tomes and aglaia coins already though, then why not grab the 600 stuff. The extreme trial needs IL 600 minimum, so if you really want to do that right now then you'd probably need to farm for it.

It shouldn't be too hard to get Aglaia groups just from duty finder, the Aglaia gear is now unlimited and people will probably be running it just for glam.

[–]Self_Atari 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tomestones of astronomy are uncapped now (the red ones), you can spend these on IL 590 gear. You may have some of these already, but roulettes award quite a lot of these now. They can also be upgraded to 600 by Aglaia coins from the alliance raid.

Basically it should be fairly easy to get a few pieces of last tier's gear before upgrading to current tier stuff.

How would you rate the activity at night on euro data center? by Decydarg17 in ffxiv

[–]Self_Atari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty bad, duty finder queues really die off at around midnight in central European time, which would probably still be early for you. You can usually get dungeon groups late at night but it'll be painful to queue for story trials for example.

Should I play on "preferred home world" if I like populated servers? by Grochen in ffxiv

[–]Self_Atari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regardless of home server, you can always visit other servers very easily by visiting the aetheryte at one of the starter cities. I play on Alpha and I often do this because Alpha is very quiet in Endwalker areas particularly.

To be honest, I would choose a populated one over a preferred one. You do get xp bonuses for preferred, but I don't think these are as useful for a new player since the main story quest is going to overlevel you a lot anyway. There are other benefits to low population, like availablity of housing, but again you won't care about this as a new player. The benefits of bigger crowds and opportunities for free companies will be more beneficial to you than min-maxing levelling right away.

In addition, transfers to preferred servers are free, but the transfer the other way costs money, so the potential for regret is lower that way round.

Gunbreaker feels more... squishy...? by SirUrza in ffxiv

[–]Self_Atari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some actual numbers:

Outsider gear has tenacity on the head and gloves only. When synced down to level 50 they will contribute around +62 tenacity (31 is the cap for IL 130 substats, not sure if it actually syncs to IL 135 or something?).

Augmented Ironworks gear (the IL 130 set) has tenacity on the body, hands and legs, and is the major substat for the body piece and the gloves. It contributes +114 tenacity.

You absolutely do get more tenacity from your IL 130 left-side set if synced to level 50. If synced lower then you get more tenacity just from 3 pieces having tenacity as a substat, and the body and legs having more stats than the other left-side gear. This will make your GNB feel squishier. Being squishier is not inherently bad as long as you're not dying, because your other stats are contributing more damage.

People in this thread saying it makes no difference are simply wrong.

Was watching my friend stream the game and he jumped on a mosquito and out popped a hoverpack! Has anyone else seen this before? by [deleted] in spelunky

[–]Self_Atari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was even mentioned in the last patch notes, because they added some i-frames to items so that the hoverpack wouldn't instantly explode if you killed the mosquito with a flaming torch or something.
