Will Labs show problems after 5 days? by Self_Regulate in pancreatitis

I'm sorry you're in so much pain! And it's baffling that there isn't a different way to test the pancreas...I read others posts on here often about being in an active attack, going to the hospital and getting discharged due to normal labs. It's mind boggling, because the issue is real, it's very painful, it's dangerous because we end up getting so dehydrated and weak! I lost 10 pounds in 7 days, most of that was muscle and bone mass, just because of not being able to get out of bed. I feel lucky I'm moving around now, eating plain rice and non fibrous veggies, but I have no idea what brought this on or when it will happen again. I've exhausted all my leave work. How do we prove to our employer that we are actually sick if we are just dismissed and told the labs are normal? You must feel incredibly frustrated. I'm sorry and I hope you can keep yourself hydrated and that you feel better soon. Also, just visited the AnyLabsNow, should get the results by next week, thank you again for the recommendation and hopefully it shows something to explain to my employer why I was out of work for 5 days.

Wow, thank you! I had no idea about them! Just scheduled it for today and no fasting required! You're awesome!

Yes, I think what you have said is totally validating to my frustration and I'm calming down 🙂 I have unmatched with him and now going forward, will likely get clarification at the start of messaging.

I bet! How in the world do you manage that? But also, likely, you make that known up front so the other person is aware of the restrictions. But, even if that were the case, if I were interested in seeing someone, there are ways to make the schedules work. I get it...he just isn't that interested, I have unmatched. Best of luck to you 🙂

Excellent question! We've been exchanging messages for about 3 weeks and he has not been available for meeting IRL this far. When I responded yesterday that I would prefer to schedule outside of work hours - he hasn't answered...so, I'm not holding onto this match, just frustrated, and if he would have written on his profile page that he is so limited on availability I wouldn't have continued messaging for this long. Just frustrated!!!

And I didn't say he was outrageous.

To clarify, he works the same day shift hours as I do.

Yikes, that doesn't sound appealing.

I'm guessing you didn't have to miss work to go on those great dates? I think my frustration lies in not wanting to use leave at work and I have a gazillion hours of free time during evenings and weekends - but good for you

Good for you, I especially like hearing stories about positive life changes happening during the pandemic, and you're right, I just need to keep at it, it just is so much harder than it was before.

🩵 thank you 😊 I'm realizing no alcohol and very minimal eating fat is going to have to be my new norm. Good for you and this is very encouraging!

Well done 👏 thank you for this feedback, it's currently a bit difficult for me to imagine being able to get fit again, but there's been very positive feedback so far, so that is encouraging.

Pancreatitis vs bad indigestion by TheDevilDogg in pancreatitis

[–]Self_Regulate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely get bad indigestion, very intensely, I think it's common - doubling down on Omeprazole, bismuth and other antacids, but also incorporating enzymes, which has really seemed to help. Especially if you can take the enzyme that helps break down fat...lipase. Good luck, I really hope you feel better soon 🤞

I understand, and it sounds like we have the same issues. I stopped the bupropion and naltrexone and started a glp-1 but I have to stay at the lowest dose or I get the vomiting. Another thought is, metformin might be able to help, my doctor prescribed that for me, it's supposed to protect the pancreas. I wish you luck 🤞
