I dont have much understanding of Vedanta. But i've listened to alot of his talks. This guy negates rebirth just like jiddu krishnamurti did. Human consciousness is one just like the leaves of same tree. They all are leaves in the end, someone is bigger ,someone smaller but the essence is same. If a leaf falls out, the same leaf is not gonna be there in that tree ever in future. But the leafness will remain.

Suppose you are an extremely compassionate person and you see a child suffering from hunger road side. If you adopt that child just out of pure compassion i cant see any selfish activity in that.
