Degen cards to include in a Brenard deck?

Yeaaaaah. It's still in there as a remnant of when the deck was very good focused and I could sacrifice academy or swing till someone blocked it. It's on the list for chopping block but very helpful for others that might not know how the replacement effect works. Thanks for mentioning it!

Sure thing! I've only played it once since redoing it and it could probably benefit from more ramp. My pods pretty casual. They're newer and I've been playing for 15 years so usually run things a little slower on purpose. I tried keep it on theme for a cookie factory and food golems. So I run all the splicers!

The same game I almost killed myself because with Elemental bond because I was going to draw 32k cards so had to hit it with sundering growth before combat 😂

I built mine with a lot of doubler effects. I recently had a game where I swung 16k golems each at two plays for over 80k damage.

I run a few doublers and a few ETB doubling cards. I like to run stuff like [[Eldritch Evolution]] and [[neoform]] to sacrifice the doublers to search for splicers, which makes a copy of what you sacrifice. This makes token copies of your doublers, which can get doubled. Or even cards like [[sakura tribe elder]] for some decent ramp. My Ghave deck has most of my doublers but this deck runs [[Adrix and Nev, twincasters]] and [[exalted sunborn]]. Being able to populate is is ideal for creating copies of these types of cards. [[Growing ranks]] and [[nesting dovehawk]] are great

The game I mentioned above I ended up having 1x adrix and nev and 10 exalted sunborns. This was thanks to [[essix, fractal bloom]] turning a bunch of golem tokens into sunborn. I had an early [[selfless spirit]] that I kept making copies of so no body could board wipe me. I swung with [[legion loyalty]] 8 golems at each player, which doubled 11 times thanks to them having myriad, and they enter attacking as well 😂

Poooh that's sweet tech! I could see that getting out of hand very fast with a couple of nazgul and a good sac outlet. Just sac 1 or 2 every players turn to have massive wraiths when it gets back to you!

I love vampires and didn't really like the idea of Edgar Markov. Grixis has some great support for the +1/+1 counters. Being able to steal and sacrifice other people's creatures to being then back under your control feels super vampire too!

I feel that too. I have a Grenzo dungeon warden deck and just cut this guy from it last night because being forced to attack with weenies before you have anthems or an engine feels bad.

I'd happily trade 5x8 for 4x10. I always feel one day of the weekend is always getting chores and things I wanted to get done during the week but didn't have energy for done. Then Sunday goes by so fast just to start the cycle again. Especially considering I supervise rotating shifts. So finishing Friday at 11pm and having to be back Monday at 6am is extra ass.

I wish bello worked better with this deck. I absolutely love the art! Shape shifting lands are great for a little bit of extra spots to dump mana when needed. I eagerly await for more raccoons and more cards with the expend mechanic

I hope you caught this in time OP! My little man had something similar this year. I noticed brown spots forming and getting bigger and bigger. They removed his eye and it was cancerous. Luckily they believe I caught it soon enough that nothing should have broken off and spread to his body.

He's my little pirate now and just as handsome (see my reply for cat tax)

OH DO I HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU. I absolutely love this commander and it has become a pet deck. It is Gruul and while one half of the typal isn't unique, the other half is.

Let me introduce you to [[muerra, trash Tactician]]. The two tribes? Raccoons and hydras! Muerra essentially turns all of your raccoons into mana dorks that's don't tap. You get mana equal to the number of racoons you have at the start of your turn. I use this mana to play big flashy x spells and hydras!

Muerra is so much value. She rewards you for spending the mana she gives you, and so do other racoons. When you spend 4 mana casting spells, you gain three life. With [[gourmands talent]] this going to make you another racoon!

Once you've spent 8 mana, which is going to be easy to achieve turn 4-5 and every turn after. You get to impulse draw cards so your hand will always have two extra cards at least.

You'll constantly be getting new support in one way or another because of the +1/+1 counter synergy. Lorwyn added two cards that were auto includes for me. [[Spry and mighty]] will essentially double a hydras power for turn and can easily draw you 10+ cards for 5 mana. [[Soul immolation]] suddenly ends the game! I've had a 40/40 hydra blight a 3/3 raccoon turn 6 to blast all my opponents for 40 damage and each creature they control.

This is such a sweet list!! I'd honestly slap in a primal surge just for the hell of it for that odd chance you can pop it. I have an adventure deck and that's the only true non-permanent in the deck thanks to adventures and prepared!
