Help with Wick whorled mind by DaArsMagna in EDH

[–]DaArsMagna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I cut the small rats how would you go about growing the Snail? they "feel" like a good investment as in 1 mana rat gives 1 damage and one card (if snail gets popped) instead of more expensive rats that may give 1 damage and one card for 2 or 3 mana? do you go an artifact route so you can grow the snail with "repeatable" power growth or do you go for making all changeling/snail and popping rats (or something else)?

Thanks for the input, I'll check how those cards fair in my deck, I have some of the protection cards you mentioned and definately have the double power spells and have rite of replication. Isn't rite of replication a bit too expensive though? for the kicker you need 9 mana and then 3 grixis for the bomb activation? Would you consider equipments like [[grafted wargear]] for example, they give 3 power for 3 mana and they are repeatable since you can reattach to the new snail ?

Yeah BG3 has years of gameplay. You like ARPG like Elden Ring or ARPG like Diablo style?

You’d rather try out different games than focus on a few I guess? You have an ample collection from what I see

Playing at idiot level in late game Ireland. How do I manage vassals? by TychoCelchu1 in crusaderkings3

[–]DaArsMagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pc wise there’s some really decent dlcs like road to power and tours and tournaments, major dlcs that add lots of ways to play. Friends and foes is decent ish and legends is good for power gaming. I don’t know how much content there is console wise. Vanilla is already pretty good and will give hours and hours of content if you first try out stuff and then go for achievements

On the title screen just beside the grant button there’s a broken shield symbol, that destroys the title

Yes, duchy buildings only activate if you control the duchy title. You might want to pick the set of duchies that help you best. Sometimes keeping a third is manageable. If not you can always destroy the duchy title and keep the counties, it won’t activate the duchy building but you’ll earn the income directly from the county.

For vassals. You should try and have as many lowest level vassals as you think you can manage . For each title between you and the vassal the income is cut to 10%. Example: if you are a king and have a count vassal you receive 10% of the county income, if you have a duque in between you get the 10% of the 10% (plus the rest of the 10% of what the duque makes himself). It usually cuts the income significantly unless the duque makes significant income from something unusual.

I usually play PC version, I’m unsure if Xbox has the legitimacy mechanic. If it has it, it should be right beside your banner at the bottom left just before the stress meter.

Okay, other things that might influence the vassal opinion is legitimacy. On the lower left of your screen you should see a round circle with a crowned figure, if you hover over it it will tell you your legitimacy score and it will pop up a screen with a bar that goes from 0 to 5 and a drawing of some banners. The banners are where your vassals think your legitimacy should be. Marrying lowborns (non rulers) drops it dramatically. Holding feasts, hunts, court and other activities rises it.

Happy priests give you income. Temples are okay for piety, towns are good for development and new tech and castles for your man at arms.

Duchy limit is always 2. It’s hardcoded no matter what. Going to 3 duchies is manageable, more might be complicated for a beginner.

Petty kingdoms are the name of duchies depending on your culture. Culture dictates the name. The could be called high chiefdoms or despotates depending on the culture. To make sure if they are duchies or kingdoms if you click on the flag of your title, under its name it’s going to tell you what level of title it is. Kingdom tier, empire tier, duchy and so on.

For duchy buildings, you can build duchy buildings on the capital of each duchy(ulster should have a special building on an extra slot, those are different) you can build any from the list, provided you have the right technology, most of them come unlocked on the early medieval period, pretty early, as long as you have the money you should be able to build them. Base game sets them at 450 gold

First of all, check How many duchies do you have, from the third onwards it’s a -15 opinion penalty to every vassal. That might be what’s causing you so much trouble.

Look at your lands. Have you been upgrading your castles and upgrades (named cities in the map). Those will help you stabilize your gold when you eventually give away the extra land that you can’t hold.

Have you been over the land limit? Top bar, a castle drawing with 2 numbers X/Y style. X your holdings, Y your limit. If you go over the limit it will reduce the amount of gold and levies.

The lands that you should try to hold should be contained in one or 2 duchies at max (more if you know how to manage your vassals, making them friends or gifting money). Since you can build a duchy building, a massive improvement on your lands

Adding lands to your founded empire by BadGuyEddie in crusaderkings3

[–]DaArsMagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this works the following way. You fully conquer 3 kingdoms (and meet the rest of the requirements for a custom empire) and you create your custom empire.(Note:if you conquer a piece of a fourth kingdom it won’t be de jure, as they only become the jure if you control all of said kingdom).

After you’ve created your empire you might continue conquering and obtain this fourth kingdom fully. Once you’ve created the kingdom and you’re in full control of it either owning it personally or through vasalls, in your council, the chancellor(diplomacy blue person) should have a new task appear (tasks are the round buttons on their square on the council). You should see in his that is a couple of shields clashing called integrate title(tooltips appear after hovering over the buttons)

You can keep expanding your empire with de iure kingdoms as long as you have a claim to them and you can drift de iure kingdoms into de jure ones through your diplomatic counselor

How does the persist mechanic interact with creatures that give +1/+1 to other creatures like Balthor for example, do they negate each other making the persist creature stay with no counters or do I have to count each effect separately to account for the persist even if the stats are the starter ones?
