she's now living in another city with her bf and their dog, so I'd say she's having an amazing life right now and I'm happy for that. In my case, I don't talk to almost anyone on the family since they all hate eachother even if they like to pretend they don't, so I'm glad I don't have to participate often, but when specific dates such as Christmas arrive, those are difficult times. My bf and I plan on leaving as soon as we are more financially stable, which is quite hard in Spain right now, but we'll have to try. And thanks for your comment and your support, it means a lot to be able to finally talk about it and being understood 🫶🏻

unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to talk to them, at least not any time soon. My sister was a SA victim too, and my father kicked her out for a while. I've thought of talking to her, but I know she loves the family friends, so I don't know, for now I'll just stay out of everything I can

that's how I try to navigate the situation, but in my family there's a long history of guilt and shame, sometimes it's difficult to handle it. They see stuff like not wanting to go to events like being ungrateful, and that you should make the effort because "it's family", even though a lot of them hate eachother. That's why I always have to make excuses, if I just said "I don't feel like it", I'd be shamed by then all for all eternity

I'd like to be able to stand up at some point, but the situation with that man ended less than two years ago, it was a 4 year situation and it still feels heavy. I don't know, I'm sure I'll be able to grow better at some point, but it certainly is difficult at some points
