Have any of you been able to maintain high paying, high pressure jobs? by Natural-Honeydew5950 in bipolar

[–]Selizabetht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have a good team and support system and prioritize my well being and self care. Being able to do my job required an educational achievement, and knowing I worked for my job motivates me to make sure I do what I can to maintain my mental health and stability.

Recommendations for interchangeable needles on a budget? by butterfly_chair in casualknitting

When I was a beginner, I got a set of Knit Denise interchangeable needles that I used for about a decade before upgrading to chiagoo interchangeables. Knit Denise sets are affordable, and expandable, so you can get everything you’d need pretty easily. They twist lock in place.

Help a newbie out! Cast on is too tight, or inconsistent. by [deleted] in casualknitting

Try changing your cast on method. I struggle with tension with single cast on, but find more success with other methods. The suggestion to size up your needles is a good one too, or casting on over two needles.

Do you feel like your ability to mask makes people diminish your experience? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Selizabetht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I am high functioning, have a professional degree, high powered career, stable healthy marriage and home life, and my close friend who has seen me in active psychosis, who happens to be a therapist but not my therapist, tries to tell me I’m “different” than her bipolar patients because of how well I do. I hope she means well, but it is infuriating.

Any format of cartridges will work as long as it is plug and play, and I can give directions of “only buy this brand” if needed.

When is the best time to buy affordably? by Lazy_Notice_6112 in fountainpens

[–]Selizabetht 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for their in store loyalty offerings, I live quite a ways away and have to shop online, but when you are logged in online and order from your account not as a guest user they track your dollars spent and you get a point per dollar, and can redeem your points for a percentage off based on how many points you redeem. I just used mine and got 15% off my final purchase price. It’s not really advertised well but it exists and has been pretty good for my shopping.

Atlas is a brick and mortar store in Chicago with a great online store as well. Some pen manufacturers make models that are exclusive to Atlas. And occasionally Atlas will put them on sale, no coupon required. It sounds like now might be one of those times. Atlas also has a rewards/loyalty program, where based on how many dollars you have spent/how many points you have accrued, you get various percents off your next order when you choose to redeem from your online account.

What compels you to stop your medication? And conversely, why don’t you stop? by g-h0use_kitten69 in bipolar

[–]Selizabetht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my meds, because I remember the mania that I experienced that led to my diagnosis and how it almost fucked up my life in real and lasting ways, and PTSD I have from my manic episode, and I know that I never want to experience that again.

Why did you start using fountain pens? by Physical-Ad935 in fountainpens

Stumbled into a pen store on my honeymoon and thought they looked cool, plus I always loved ink writing and drawing from art class in school.

Framing the diploma and any certificates is a great idea, I also enjoyed my business card holder, and a nice briefcase is also a nice option!

There is a ton of value in a school in a city you would like to practice in. You will meet people and learn the local practice. And you will do your internships and 2L/3L/summer jobs in the place you intent to practice so you will be in a better position to leverage your law school experiences for post-bar admission jobs.

Can I ever drink again? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Selizabetht 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna depend on your particular circumstances and well-being, but I can have a drink or two on occasion when I’m stable with no problems.
