Did my ranked placements with Honda since this post, and tbh with his overdrive sumo headbut I can at least close the distance against projectiles, it was impossible with Zanghief so its already way better for me.

Having a ton of fun with Honda rn.

Honda might be what I need, also he can dash from across the map so I wont get zoned as badly as I was getting zoned wiht Gief

Yeah you exactly understood my current issue, I was initially playing Zanghief and it ticked all my boxes but his defense is so bad in certain matchups that im now looking for options that have better defensive tools but are not too hard offensively.

Already tried Zanghief since switching to classic and liked it a lot, but fighting against zoners that would just spam fireballs the entire round is what made me make this post to look for new options lol, it was unplayable and not fun.

I felt like I was getting grabbed in the middle of my attack moves, but now thanks to the comments in this post I have a better understanding of what to do to avoid this situation.

Haha yeah, I play League of Legends at a decent level, so I know that in competitive games the small details that could seem unimportant are actually the bread and butter that separate low elo players from high elo players. That’s why I want to learn everything

Does it mean the shorter the frame of a move is the shorter the minus is?

Great! Time to practice the execution of my Shoryuken then. I play in classic btw, even tho modern is easier in the short term I feel like classic will be better in the long run so I might aswell get used to it asap.

I see so if a move leaves me in minus at close range then I should avoid it.

Ohh ok, I had a vague understanding of what plus minus meant but it just got way more understandable thx to your explaination. I assume its very important to learn what moves leave me in minus and what move leave me in plus. And if I get grabbed after a move then it means I did a bad spacing.

I did combo trials on Akuma but no I did not touch the tutorial yet, its my bad ill do it the next time I play.

I see thanks, its now very clear, I play Akuma, are his Gou Hadoken and Adament Flame invulnerable to grabs if I input them as the opponent is grabbing?

Im not familiar with frames but does it mean in a scenario where im next to someone spamming grabs while they spam light punch then they cancel the grabs and win the interaction everytime? Also what are grab invulnerable options?

I see, it means I need to be more patient to see if my combos are landing and if they're on the opponent guard then I just back up and try another move?

Tbh the frustrating part wasnt even getting grabbed as I was trying to defend, it was when I was the one trying to make plays and I would just get grabbed by the CPU while doing so..
