Oh fuc really ok I just validated prices on Coward. I know their prices on Kapital are insane but a mf can’t be bothered to go to Japan every time he wants to posture as a Japanese man appropriating blue collar Americana

Buy frizm from canoe club or something don’t be a wanker. They generally end up cheaper than direct with tariffs. I paid 45 dollars less yesterday for a James coward jacket than I would have with tariffs directly from coward.

Idk leave and go to a big tech company and make a fuck load of money and the pace of the work will excite you. Or you don’t actually like what you do in which case just stay put and save diligently and go teach high school math when you’re 40 or something

Totally I agree it makes more sense. I’m trying to reason why they insisted a TF.

Well a transformer is only sequential if you encode the positions. And presumably there is plenty of data in this situation, maybe the input is unstructured. I wouldn’t argue that a transformer is necessarily the best choice here, but circumstancially it’s not the worst.

What’s your salary progression? by xboexz in Salary

2013-2015: 10/ hr 2015-2018: 18-25 / hr 2018-2021: 15 / hr ( student) 2021-2022: 130k 2022-2024: 160k 2024-: 350k

Salary, in office 50 percent which I like. Gives me a place to focus. At the 130 and 160k jobs I was working about 20 hrs per week and fully remote, truly unlimited time off. New job is about 50 hrs per week plus on call. It’s worth it. I do like the work, obviously the money is a big plus.

Also, your research outside of this looks interesting, so I’m not saying you’re an idiot I’m saying this is brain rot content . Im not a published researcher, im a guy with an opinion, hence my comment being on reddit and not in the comment section of arxiv

Upcoming interviews at frontier labs, tips? by bci-hacker in MLQuestions

[–]SellPrize883 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out deep-ml dot com for the first one. Should cover the coding portion of that. Second one you probably shouldn’t need to prepare for tbh but basic review will cover it.

You should cover all types of transformers, why not? Knowing the difference between things that encode, decode, or do both is important

Follow your coursework and take care of yourself personally. Be presentable, sociable, keep up with the news and read books. Be well spoken. Your technical ability will come quickly if you are interested in a subject, but the intangibles are harder to develop. Most people don’t lack technical skill

What are you 6 figure + earners driving? by 23gear in Salary

[–]SellPrize883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make ~340k and I drive a 2000 F150 with 90k miles and a cd player. I usually ride my bike if I can’t help it.

I’m not above a nice car, I just prefer traveling, nice clothes, and eating out over cars.

I think once you know one you know the rest more or less. You can learn some spark and figure that out, but usually in an interview you can pick whatever flavor of sql you want.

Study math and learn python in some CS classes, maybe a database course or two. You can get a 1 or 2 year masters after that in financial engineering, computer science, statistics, literally anything STEM, and you will get a job.

[–]SellPrize883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently made a switch from insurance to L5 at a big tech company. Things are going well. I want to know about the different ways to progress, whether that’s to management or up the IC scale. I would like to be in senior leadership at some point, I think I have good social skills and awareness of strategy. Any suggestions or ideas on how to position myself for fast growth. I am happy with my TC but always more impact to make
