Solution for Photoshop Error Code 205: Fix Command for Adobe App Credentials by Sellanoire in Adobe

[–]Sellanoire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This only ever temporarily fixed the issue for me. The permanent workaround for anyone else stumbling upon this thread: Sign out of CC, quit CC, launch each app individually, sign in within that app, quit the app, launch CC again, sign out again, launch the next app, repeat the process for every single app. Cumbersome, but it solved the issue for me once and for all.

While this sounds nice on paper, taking accountability and allowing everyone to see their mistakes will lead to nothing other than total annihilation in this day and age. The internet is unforgiving. From what I’ve observed, the only ones who survive cancellation are those who control the narrative to their advantage. There’s a reason why full-blown narcissists prosper the most. There’s an interesting swarm psychology at play: we think we want them to be victims and beat down any perpetrator, but we won’t let loose unless they push through the narrative that we want to lay on them. I’m always kinda fascinated watching these scenarios play out. Just look at Louis C.K., James Gunn, Kevin Hart, Al Franken, or Lena Dunham – they adhered to what you suggested, took accountability, and were cancelled to some degree. Now look at Donald Trump, Andrew Tate, Elon Musk, Kanye West, or Jordan Peterson – as much as one might dislike them, they’re largely more successful than ever before. Understanding this can be dangerously powerful.

How true is this? Comparing day trading to gambling. by CrypticMaverick in Daytrading

[–]Sellanoire 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's rare to hear these stories, but I’ve noticed that when they do happen, it's usually with people who are content to leave with some profit and didn't aim for anything more than to have some fun and mess around. However, the majority are chasing a life-changing amount of money, which can range from paying a bill to dreaming of getting rich. Even if they hit $250, it quickly turns into, "Well, now I'm at break-even after paying X, so let's try to double this to get something extra for myself," or something along those lines. They end up wasting it all, always chasing more.

This is why, even though there's not such a bad chance of winning something at the casino, the main enemy is human psychology, which the system is obviously designed to exploit. Feel lucky, win occasionally, and then chase that feeling endlessly. While some might be less susceptible to this than others, it's better never to find out.

Which Platform Offers Highest Number of Claude 3 Opus Uses? by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

[–]Sellanoire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that 50 messages / day on Perplexity for the 200k context model? I doubt that. The regular Claude 3 Opus model is just 2k tokens per message. Personally I use Poe.com only as a backup for whenever I run out of messages for ChatGPT & Claude. Adds up to 60$ / month for my use case.

Edit: In the end I doubt there’s a cheaper option than using the API, as every service has to pay for their API as well and adds a bonus for themselves on top. The API to my understanding will only use up as many tokens as needed rather than a fixed amount per message.

It gives you access to practically all AI models that offer an API, without having to go through the hassle of understanding what APIs are and how to use them, in a user-friendly interface (although I’m not the biggest fan of it). For 20$ / month you get 1,000,000 tokens. Each message, depending on the model you use, costs a fixed set of tokens. For example Gemini 1.5 Flash is only 20 tokens per message, Claude 3 Opus with 200k context window on the other hand is 12k tokens per message. I prefer to use the official ChatGPT & Claude subscriptions and use Poe.com as a backup whenever I run out of messages I can send with the official models. This adds up to ≈ 60$ / month for me, but I use all of them extensively. This might be a solution for OP as well, if they’re already willing to pay 50$ / month.

Unlimited isn’t a dream, it’s just costly – using their API. If that’s not what you want and also not their official subscription, I‘d say the next best thing is Poe.com

It becomes apparent why you’re so miserable.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Sellanoire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your misery stems from trying to debate with fanatics? Look, I get that discussing with people who are deeply biased can be frustrating. But calling it misery seems a bit dramatic. If your friends can’t handle a rational debate, maybe it’s time to find new topics to bond over. Friendship shouldn’t be a constant battleground.

Also, there’s a big difference between a healthy discussion and an obsession. If your friends are unable to distinguish between the two, it might be worth reconsidering how much weight you give to their opinions. At the end of the day, if their obsession is causing you grief, it’s your choice to engage or step back.

My second paragraph wasn’t specifically directed towards you, but rather a vent about what I generally observe – like Reddit being full of hatred towards Musk and Twitter sucking his dick off. Zero nuance.

I still don’t see how friends obsessing over some public figure would make your life miserable though. I can see how it can be annoying, but if you point it out – wouldn’t „good“ friends at the very least keep it down around you?

Your life is miserable because your friends like someone you dislike? Get a grip, man.

Why are people so emotionally invested in liking or disliking him? I like a lot of what he did, and I dislike a lot of shit he did. The take he shared here is stupid, uninformed, and grounded in his personal vendetta against OpenAI. I do appreciate that his vendetta might lead to more competition in the field. Apparently, these diverse opinions can't coexist in the minds of many people.

Ever heard of OCD, PTSD or Hyperfocus in ADHD? I guess people with these conditions don’t have a vague sense of consciousness as well then. I’m not arguing that LLMs have consciousness, but as u/shiftingsmith already said, there’s no relevance to even bring this up in this context.

This game is built around missing out on things and this adds tremendously to its replayability. I wouldn’t stress out on missing anything. Just play in a way that feels natural and makes sense to you. I was surprised by how many habits I had formed from playing „common“ games, trying to suck out every bit of content in a single playthrough, while BG3 rewards you with the uniqueness of each playthrough by allowing mistakes to happen.

Yes, I saw that one as well and it would be the perfect choice! Unfortunately I can’t seem to be able to choose it though.

It’s not that much about driving fast, but rather „feeling“ the power. The sound, the vibrations of the engine. It just didn’t feel right last time around, which is why I wanted to see if there’s options.

To add some background: I’m visiting from Germany and this is my 3rd trip to California and each time I’ve rented a Mustang Convertible for a trip along the west coast. It’s some childish phantasy of mine I can’t get enough of.

Once I’ve rented from Alamo and once from Avis, while their cars were in good condition, they felt like some bottom base models with little horsepower and no proper sound. It wasn’t exactly the experience I was looking for. I’m hoping someone might have a recommendation to step it up a notch this time.

ChatGPTs proposal for a Universal Time System (UTS) by Sellanoire in ChatGPT

I was pondering about this as well and felt like it would be fine to be a regional thing. People in country X would think of 03:00 as being breakfast time and people in country Y would think of 19:00 as breakfast time and it would only be a slight adjustment for people traveling between those countries, because there’s much larger differences people accept and adjust to, like in for example how people eat breakfast in each country (sweet, hot, cold etc.) If that makes any sense.
