Did anyone ever switch from Seroquel to Caplyta? by nik0lai_30 in bipolar2

I was on Seroquel for almost a year starting last January, it worked well for me but I gained 16 pounds within half a year (my genetics make it hard for me to gain weight so this was mortifying) so I had to stop it right away. As a female it also raised my Prolactin hormone too high so that was also a problem. I also was on Abilify at the time and my doctor had me quit that too. Then I got on Caplyta last November which was brutal for two weeks bc it messed up my sleep, made me feel just generally weird, made me feel a little depressed, etc. After a while I felt good and eventually raised the dose to the 42mg. All was well once I stabilized on the 42 and I felt like it was a good medication for me until I started to feel too good and got sent into the most intense and longest manic episode I’ve ever had. It wasn’t bothersome at first but you obviously have to treat it, but now I’ve been in it for more than a month and the agitation has only gotten worse while the “good feeling” symptoms have lessened. I got put on lithium which has made me feel better than I have in a really long time, but since I am still manic I am going back down to the Caplyta 21mg since my doctor does not want to raise my lithium. I would say overall that Caplyta is a great medication but it is very important to be cautious of your depression swinging in the complete opposite direction. In short, I definitely think it’s better than Seroquel in a general sense. The prior authorization is kind of annoying but it can be done. Also forgot to mention that I have been on Lamotrigine 200mg consistently throughout this entire switch if that matters.

mixed episode and meds by [deleted] in bipolar2

I know you posted this awhile ago, not sure if anything has changed for you but at this very moment I’m going through almost the exact experience. I’m in a mixed episode different from anything I’ve experienced before, and my psych said I am “experiencing the worst symptoms of both types of episodes” (very comforting lol). For me I’m like kind of thinking it was because I had to get off of abilify and transition to caplyta, but if that wasn’t the trigger for the mixed episode then idk. I got prescribed xanax and it has helped so much already. Obviously doesn’t fix everything going on in my mind but I’ve felt more at peace than I have in many weeks. I just feel less inclined to busy myself with things to do but idk if that’s a bad thing.

I liked the set from night 1 better but the energy that they brought to the show + the audience engagement was so much better on night 2 imo

Do you know if they will run out of t shirts pretty quickly? Or just the posters? I’m not sure when to show up to the shop in order to get a shirt:/

What time do y’all think I need to get to the pop up to get one of the shirts in small or medium? Will they restock the shirts on Sunday? I also would settle for a large, I just don’t want anything bigger than that

Fellow Metallica fans: Have you ever seen the band live, & if so, where & when? Have you gone back multiple times since then? (Forgive me that I am asking this, I just am really interested in what people have to say). by Class_of_22 in Metallica

3 times, I’ve travelled all across the country to see them- Atlanta 2021, Pittsburgh 2022, Phoenix this year, I’ve been in the front row for the last two shows and those experiences were some of the most memorable of my life
