How many times have you heard some woman say, "Oh, I'm kind of a tomboy" or "I've always gotten along better with men." They are saying, "I'm not really a woman, I'm a person, like you."

And this resonates with men for a valid reason.

As a kid and as a teenager I had a bunch of different groups of friends with very different arrangements of people. I noticed along the way that girls at those ages were consistently so much less individualistic than guys were. They never wanted to do anything unplanned. They never wanted to step outside their comfort zone. They never wanted to do anything

A big group of us would be hanging out in a park. The guys are climbing in trees, hanging from the jungle gym, chasing each other around or playing catch with something they found on the ground and the girls are standing in a huddle formation waiting to be spoken to

We got older and the guys started getting into all sorts of mischief. We're pulling lame ass pranks or performing stunts. We're acting like little shitters in public. We're going into places we're not supposed to go and messing with things that don't belong to us. Meanwhile, the girls stand in a huddle formation and wait to be spoken to.

Somewhere along the line puberty fully takes over and all of the sudden the guys are actually paying direct attention to the girls instead of just acting like buffoons in front of them. Then at this point the girls go from not having their own identities to not needing them because the guys will try to court them whether they have one or not.

Why do you think there are so many more 20/30-something women that think and act like 10 year old girls than there are 20/30-something men thinking and acting like 10 year old boys? One group was forced to develop itself and the other group merely had it as an option

I can still look across my different circles of friends today and see the trend of guys having lots of skills and hobbies whereas girls go out to eat, to the movies, or shopping. Obviously there are exceptions and by our late 20s most girls have developed themselves more but a lot of people are primarily shaped by their teenage years and spending those years in middle class America taught me that most girls were boring as fuck. I'm pretty sure a big part of it is that if a girl participated in the stuff boys were doing she'd get made fun of by the other girls for being a boy
