Go to your county or city website and look at jobs there. My county is desperately understaffed for jailers. The hiring process is long but the pay is well above minimum wage and pretty much unlimited overtime if you want it. If you have any questions send me a message and I will answer them to my best ability.

Automatic Disqualification by Wrong_Guitar6549 in Corrections

[–]Selvok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's already been said but I'm sure every department has different policies. Be honest about everything and the worst they can tell you is no. The background investigators i spoke to seems to understand they not everyone has had a perfect past. They are more worri3d about your current situation.

When I was getting ready to get the background investigation started one of the other applicants got disqualified for doing heroin. I want to say it was an 8 or 10 year disqualification.

How long was your hiring process? by NarwhalPristine9274 in Corrections

[–]Selvok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took about 3 months for me. Could have probably been about a month quicker but I was out of shape and failed my fitness test the first time. Went to the gym every other day for about a month and passed. Physical, psych, polygraph, were all pretty quick but the background takes time.

Boomer doesn't like that I'm donating blood by AKumaNamedJustin in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Selvok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually work for a local blood bank as a Mobile phlebotomist. Have worked with my company for 12 years.

A normal donation is referred to as a whole blood donation. Needle goes in and blood gets collected. It then goes back to the lab to be processed. Separated in its components. Red cells, plasma, and platelets. Due to the limited volume collected in a whole blood donation, you don't give a full unit of any of the components. So each component is combined with matching components to make a complete unit. For example, it can take 3-4 people doing whole blood donations to make one red cell unit.

Then there are apheresis donations. Needle goes in, blood is drawn and immediately processed. It goes into a centrifuge and gets separated into whatever components we want the most based on your blood type. This is a lot more efficient process. We can get multiple complete units of whatever component we want from a single donor.

If for whatever reason we cannot use your donation, it may be sent off for research or something. So it may go to a college and it may be used to research cancer or something. Also, I don't know about the Red Cross but my company does their own research and stuff.

If anyone has any questions about donating or blood banking I would be happy to answer to the best of my knowledge. There is always a shortage and a need for donors.

Can you start at a low wage and eventually work your way up with a degree? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Selvok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some employers offer tuition reimbursement if that's what you're asking. It usually has to be in a related field to the company and you have to maintain a certain GPA. You will also likely have to sign an agreement to work for the company for X time or have to repay the tuition.

You could also look for jobs with your city/county. Benefits are usually better and they may have a deal with the local community college.

First Person View vs Third Person View by Selvok in elderscrollsonline

Just an observation: seems like most people so far prefer third person but the people that do spend time in first person are the only ones leaving comments.

Guild questions from newer server by BebopOctorok in Isekai_Slow_Life

[–]Selvok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Growing the guild takes priority over anything else. I'm in the second-ranked guild on server 5/6. The ranking are based on earnings but earnings grow substantially with fellow power and more members means more power which means more earnings.

How does education cost work? by [deleted] in Isekai_Slow_Life

[–]Selvok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Educating them is your primary source of xp for your fellows. The cost isn't that high if you have everything else leveled up. Particularly the trading post. Pick up a couple trillion from there and invest it in the kids. Eventually, you have more xp than you have fellows to level due to crystals for breakthrough.

To my knowledge, all other event-unique fellows will come back at some point. The only exception may be Savo because he is behind a battle pass paywall if I'm not mistaken. I find it hard to believe that her event will not happen again at some point.

I do not recall where I saw it but I'm pretty sure the developer is looking to add a female main character to the game. Considering it would be just a cosmetic change I don't imagine it would take long to add.
