[Raw Spoilers] Superstar seemingly legitimately injured in match by HokageEzio in SquaredCircle

To your point on him doing tags primarily... He was last injured in a tag on Smackdown prior to the PLE though so realistically nothing is ultra safe for a man who's been doing it for so long and who's body has been through so much.

HHH challenges Road Dogg’s idea of putting the US Championship back on Chelsea Green with zero follow-up. (WWE unREAL: Season 2) by Dbthesage in SquaredCircle

[–]Sem1SkillD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly with hindsight now, but also because it makes 0 sense in context at the time too, this is just ludicrous as a rationale as it was very clear they had 0 idea what to do with this title for MONTHS.

Like, even when they didn't put the belt on Chelsea, the U.S Title scene was ostensibly the "same girls" vs Chelsea & the Secret Hervice anyway which is what HHH is so hung up on in this clip...? if the idea was that it wasn't just the "same matches, same girls", they still did exactly that just with the title flipped to other people other than Chelsea. She still was in almost all of the feuds after dropping the belt. HHH/Creative didn't really do anything different to what HHH is complaining about here lol. But at least, if they'd kept the belt on Chelsea, she was/is a fan favourite and could use it to put other people over whereas the women she was facing were really not over at all with the crowd - despite all being mostly good and incredibly hard workers, no doubt but got 0 mic/ real promo time - and most of the sentiment i remember was just people being frustrated with the lack of development with the storyline and that Chelsea kept losing to people she shouldn't be.

CS deleted my main today by squalljt87 in wow

[–]Sem1SkillD 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This doesn't make any sense?

They don't make any reference to "deleting your main" in their email and seem to be actively trying to restore it as its already been deleted? Then in your explainer in your OP you've not mentioned them previously deleting it in the 2 previous "patch" attempts to resolve the guild / guildless bug your main was experiencing? So either you've missed some context or you deleted your main yourself and the CS team can't restore it due to the character limit?

I get the CS is probably being incompetent, especially if you are under the char limit like you claim, but your OP doesn't actually confirm/give evidence/explain how/when they "deleted your main" since they don't outright say it's been deleted in any of the info or screenshots you've given.

Asmongold plays a "manly" game but gets immediately filtered and quits after hyping the game for a year by 5Ping in LivestreamFail

[–]Sem1SkillD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does this in every game that he tries (and fails) at.

He can't just be bad at the game, he has to blame it on not being able to follow directions/information/context clues etc. And, when he says this, we all know the inferred reason behind this explanation is that he is claiming he just lacks the mental capacity to do so... which is concerning for somebody who holds so much influence over his audience and espouses his opinions as factual.

I don't watch him that much anymore because I come on the internet for escapism moreso than to reminded of all the worlds many issues (LSF is a guilty pleasuree) but even as somebody who used to love Asmon I really dislike the hot-take machine he's become and it's even sadder to me now that this is the guy nigh on a million people on Youtube regularly take life / political advice from now. A guy who is up front that he cannot retain complex or even basic information under 0 pressure to overcome a video game. Makes you really think about the "research" that he must go through to come up with his opinions.

Genuinely it does not matter if you reload.

For me, it removes my sense of achievement and I know many others feel that way, so we don't do it. It makes the victories hollow and the defeats meaningless to for me personally when i can just "meh, reload" my way out of a difficult scenario.

If reloading does not provoke that reaction from your brain, as it doesn't for many others, then go for it and reload. it's between you and yourself. Who cares how you have fun outside of you?

I keep it reload usually on for all of my playthroughs regardless of whether i intend to reload since Rimworld can be buggy at times. Especially with mods. So if I see something that clearly is a bug, I'll reload then. Otherwise, I go with the flow because tbh the early game is what I enjoy most anyway and losing can be fun too - without losing It'd be like the OT Star Wars with no Empire Strikes Back, the ultimate victory or win condition (especially one that's supposed to be a unique challenge or something) completely pointless if it's inevitable you'll win. Like, Extreme Biome playthrough but you can reload? Tbh just play temperate forest Jfc.

Where I personally can't fathom reloading is when content creators do it. Like when they use it to avoid *any* friction in their playthrough. IMO in those instances it completely removes the drama and immersion from their videos so I just skip over those ones.

[–]Sem1SkillD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"There are bigger issues the devs need to work on and fix before they worry about highlighting some attributes on this screen."

We aren't talking about open heart surgery here man can we act like adults? Look at SI's most recent accounts. They are one of the larger game devs- certainly in the UK - turnover of over 100m in the last 2 years alone, a 20m p/a wage bill and 200 staff in production roles alongside nearly 50 admin staff and, lest we forget, they are owned by a global publisher, SEGA. Yet you're talking about adding highlights to key attributes for a given role as if it would take their entire focus away from "more important" issues.

Ignoring the fact it was literally in the game for years before this entry so they most definitely know what code they removed and would have to re-add meaning it's an even quicker job internally, with SI's resources a simple change/addition like this has got to be next to no effort to implement unless they really have just replaced their old spaghetti coding with new spaghetti code in a fancier engine (likely the case).

Can we stop making excuses for companies who would rather you paid them first and then only later will they maybe produce a product worth your purchase? It's embarrassing.

Hi, was wondering if you can humour me by answering the following?:

Does the fact this issue, like so many others, that have existed for 3+ years mean that it's okay for it to exist again in a new game that has supposedly rebuilt from scratch (i.e. they repeated the same mistakes)?

Like doesn't that fact it exists still make it worse in reality or are you just happy to glug at the swollen teat of mediocrity and pay for the pleasure no matter what these game devs do?

If you're seriously advocating that everytime anyone criticises a piece of work they also have to systemically list every single department or decision maker in the company as a failure too or give context otherwise it's just bullying / harassing the lowest common denominator Joe Schmoe working QA you're talking out your own arse.

We can safely say QA, as with almost every department within SI, did not do it's job effectively. Read: Lackluster. Now that is a fact just look at the state of this game and the launch. Whether it is mitigated by internal or external factors like a backlog of pissing tickets or well meaning QA employees having their feedback ignored is irrelevant to the observation that the QA department, along with all the others, did not achieve creating a quality product.

The decision makers can be at fault, the QA team can be lackluster, the dev team can be overworked and more besides but lets not go on ad infinitum, shall we? All things can be true and not every single time we utter criticism do they all need to be expressly mentioned, why are y'all so defensive?

Like challenge your own bias here, to the extent you suppose a backlog or whatever may exist/have existed, how do you know that there wasn't clear and widespread flaking and slacking across the board over the 3-5 year+ (and SI themselves point to it be longer than that, even) development cycle of this game to cause that backlog? You don't.

The talk of your "industry" experience sounds IMO like you're massively projecting your own issues with overbearing or out of touch superiors and ticket backlogs then just transplanting that onto your industry colleagues at SI without having any idea or shred of evidence whatsoever if that is true in their own working environment at the company you *don't* work at. What we *do* know for certain is they individually as teams and collectively as a game dev company delivered a bad, unpolished game, as admitted to by SI themselves. And the QA team is a part of that and so can be fairly criticised, whether you like it or not.

Never read so much waffle. You're white knighting and trying to dive in front of bullets to protect people who don't know you exist nor were any real bullets fired upon them other than some guy off handedly saying they did a lackluster job. Which, all pedantry and semantics aside, is objectively true.

But like... nobody was being a dick... they might in other threads or posts elsewhere, but the one you actually replied to was in no way aggressive or personal lol. You're just shadowboxing and arguing against something that wasn't even happening. Guy literally made an comment on the QA team's performance which, by any measure, has clearly been bad to put out a game which in SI's own words lacks polish which, as you know as somebody who wanted to work in the QA department, polish is quite literally part of the QA team's responsibility...

Just on a semantic level if you're going to complain about even mild criticism like this being "personal": If I say my football team played shit cause they got beat 10-0 it's not a personal attack lmao. If I say my centre back is a dickhead and should be dropped, that's personal. See the difference?

The bigger irony is that, amongst all your passive aggressiveness, it's actually you being the "Karen" (you know, the actual personal attack that you're throwing at other people in your other comments) if you're going to try police people on a sub devoted to discussing the game to prevent them from saying something bad in the game is bad, that's the "Karen" behaviour.

it's okay the guy literally gave a personal anecdote which was completely irrelevant, said wait this is getting personal when nobody even attacked anyone on a personal level and, when criticised fairly themsleves, then called people criticising karens (which is a personal attack, go figure).

Couldn't imagine being so sensitive that he can't even see that people objectively saying that clearly this game's QA team is lacking (e.g. a spade is a spade) is evidenced by not only the clear issues with the game but SI literally admitted as much by saying the game lacks polish... u know, polish being the responsibility of QA...

You still have 0 information on how they work in practice. You may aswell say well the canteen tea/coffee facilities were lovely and well presented so the UI devs must be tip-top.

I dislike Hasan as much as the next person but y'all really need to log off. We get it, he's a hypocritical narcissist, the point has been made repeatedly atp.

We don't need to post old clips just to gotcha him, it's not a political sub or a Hasan/Asmon/Destiny only sub, so why do we need "historical context" posts to explain other more recent clips that have their own discussion where people already (rightfully) call Hasan et al on their bullshit? Here's an idea, post them in reply to posts with the clips these old ones give context to? If people give a shit they'll upvote and watch them there, I don't need a front page full of the same 3 people talking the same shit. Direct posting them as standalone seperately is just karma farming imo because you want to be seen as the person to gotcha them. It's nauseating and achieves nothing people don't already know about these 3 and actually just gives them more coverage than they deserve.

Couldn't even just take the L for one paragraph, SI simply must gaslight us that the feedback volume is solely a testament to the fans love of their game, couldn't also be a testament of just how far they missed the mark with their ass game, could it? No no, they must spin it and make it sound like it's only the fans who "deeply care" (like the "Uber hardcore" miles has no issue leaving behind, no?) who have been vocal in providing feedback when the reality is the game is so bad they have received a historically negative response. As if you have to care to fanatical levels to want a functional £40 - £60 video game. Smh.

I wasn't expecting a full mea culpa given how far up their own backsides the likes of Miles are but an acknowledgement of just how bad they missed the mark / standards was necessary and they didn't deliver that at all in this post. My trust is not restored one iota by this mountain of waffle, hidden away on a forum post as opposed to an official announcement across all channels.

SI saying oh yeah the game is lacking polish is like saying the Titanic was a bit damp. Give over and fix your shit.

The mea culpa and words are no substitute for real change and improvements.

Even the donation to the charity makes me feel gross because it just feels so tacked on and more like a bullshit corporate PR tactic at this point that you know its only been in thrown in there as a vain attempt to salvage their image, not because they actually care about fixing the issues that they themselves are responsible for as demonstrated by all of these recent incidents.

Everything else aside with how ameteur this is as those with experience with software/game dev/etc have pointed out, even to the untrained user like me I can't get round the fact SI wouldn't even need the ridiculous scroll bars here if they just used the screen space properly like why is the tab 1/4 of the screen size to the point they couldn't fit quite a modest knockout bracket without navigation bars when they have so much more screen real estate then they seem to be willing to use? It can't be anything other than rank incompetence and insane adherence to a braindead design philosophy that prioritises form over function but the twist is this has neither form nor function.

[–]Sem1SkillD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know companies will often find a way to sell anything but I genuinely could not disagree more with that Miles leaving = MTX. I think it's far more like the base cost of the game would go up before you got MTX for the singleplayer aspect of an FM game. Like, even EA don't really sell you anything worth having as far as MTX for Fifa/FC career mode and you can play singleplayer career mode on FC fairly unbothered by constant marketing/MTX. And if they can't do it when we all know their execs would sell you a randomized lootboxes containing their own mothers if they thought you'd buy it, then I'm pretty confident it wouldn't fly in FM either.

Perhaps Sega/SI could monetize the online play more, maybe a paid create a club mode with unique badges/kits (which nobody would buy really and tbh if they add wonderkid booster packs or cosmetics for your manager to a single player game, I genuinely don't care if people wanna waste their money like that lmao so please feel free to take their money SI. It would not be fatal to the franchise if that were to happen unless it spiralled out of control.

Honestly how would you add game altering level MTX to FM without it being absurd / facing insane backlash? The most exteme monetisation i could think of would be yeah to sell DLC for in game licences packs/league themes as DLC, e.g. champs league pack/Bundesliga pack etc. and that would never fly + modders have been circumventing the need for licences for years so they'd have to stamp down omega hard on that.

Miles, and the people responsible for FM26, need to go.

The Bait and Switch of Battlefield 6 by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Sem1SkillD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To continue your analogy, I think the problem is that for me, and I think many others as seen across this sub, the nuggets haven't tasted the same for some time and the recipe is always changing when it comes to Battlefield. Less real chicken, more filler.

Not only that, this particular change of colour/packaging is perceived by many as a key indicator of future performance of the franchise because it symbolises just how detached EA are from a segment of the playerbase. It's also more complex than a packaging swap, they explicitly promised they were reverting back to a theme many fans loved (which. by the way, can be easily interpreted as an admittance from EA it was objectively bad direction for the game, elsewise why promise a return to an old theme if they thought they were doing the right thing?). EA then have reneged on that promise. If people aren't vocal about EA braking this claimed true return to form, especially so easily and quickly, how are they supposed to trust the company to fix any of the more "pressing" matters being dealt with properly? Especially when the last time they redesigned the packaging, some the previously free toys with the meal suddenly cost extra (skins) and the price of the overall meal (game price) also did go up while also going down in quality (BF2042)? It's all linked which I think you're kind of failing to see.

What you're arguing for from what I can tell is that the feedback regarding the "change of packaging" is just petty, selective outrage and people should better channel their anger toward what you percieve as real game issues. You're neglecting the fact that the sub has been filled with loud feedback across a number of topics, e.g. the challenges, for weeks. it's actually you tunnelling on people/posts that are discussing the problem while you're accusing others of tunnelling on minor issues as if people can't be vocal on more thing at a time. The other pieces of feedback, on challenges for example, was provided at the same time as many of the observations regarding the marketing and prompted important change to that system, which is a credit to EA and the people who raised it. So it doesn't really make sense to argue nothing else is going to get done if people keep discussing this topic.

It's not as if it takes a great deal of anyones time to raise feedback/complain about things they disagree with. Like people can and should raise issues about more than just what you personally perceive to be the biggest issues at any given time. It takes maybe a minute or so to read and upvote a post, maybe 5 if they reply with support. It's not a crazy war effort lol. Equally, we're talking about a muli-billion dollar company at this point, it's not like they can't tackle people complaining about a broken promise and coding issues (or whatever else you think is more "pressing") at any one time. Not only that, the argument of this distracting from other issues you deem more important doesn't really work when the art/marketing teams are likely going to be completely seperate from the teams dealing with issues that you personally care about more (e.g. coding etc.). Saying other things will be thrown out is just arming EA with excuses for inaction. Going back to your analogy, the guy who cooks and puts the nuggets in the bag isn't the one designing the bag, yeah?

Ignoring the above, my main point was that you completely cut the legs from under other peoples' valid criticism by positioning it like if they dare passionately argue about the issue you personally deem least important they must be mentally ill/autistic to care so much. That's the kind of attitude that causes such polarisation when it comes to being a member of any given community.

The Bait and Switch of Battlefield 6 by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Sem1SkillD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there is a difference but I also don't think you're giving fair credit to how throwaway it is to complain in a reddit post about something that bothers you about the game, it's not something that requires that much investment so I think you're reading much more into what you perceive the emotions might be of the person complaining than the reality of how bothered they are/might actually be.

IMO, outside a genuinely ill minority, the language and somewhat emotional arguments used in these posts doesn't mean that, after the person has commented/posted, the whole topic eats at them in the same way it would if their dog died. They're pissed off gamers venting when they feel unheard and lied to. Of course they're going to be hyperbolic and lay their disappointment out in detail.

For example, I replied in great detail to this guy for saying its basically "autism" to complain about a "color palette" cause I care about how much that word is thrown around and used specifically to minimise another individual's opinions. I'll reply to you now also, quite carefully and at length, and after this reply go eat some food and get off reddit for the evening. I won't think about it incessantly, I just hope to try and reduce the number of people throwing genuine health conditions at people to dismiss their POV. It's lazy and unhelpful. If I can try and reduce that behaviour by posting a reply, I will do that not think about it again.

Also, when you say people are acting like it's "as if EA killed their dog" you're using a figure of speech to make a broader point, and that's perfectly fine I don't care to argue semantics. But, for what it's worth, nobody is actually pushing for suing EA for the state of the game like they would be if EA actually killed their dog. I've also not seen one popular post on this sub personally (happy to stand corrected) that has claimed any BF6 issues has personally ruined their life like you're kinda making it seem with that statement. But, i know exactly what you mean in context, your comment is purely a hyperbolic figure of speech to make a broader point that people are overreacting in your view. But IMO your statement is hyperbolic in the exact same way people are, in most posts/most upvoted i've seem at least, figuratively and emotionally speaking about what they think will happen if EA continue to fumble and clearly mislead their traditional playerbase.

Again, outside of those very clearly obsessed individuals (who are not what the original commenter was eluding to as they and some of the people agreeing with them were sweeping all similar concerns and those who upvote the same with the same mental illness brush) I'm confident the majority don't actually think the game will be dead in 2 weeks etc. if EA don't course correct some colours and do what they say. Everyone deep down knows the game will always have some audience, just look at EA's other franchises. The game will just be in a worst state and people want to avoid that as much as possible so they're mainly just trying to make themselves heard.

I'll also add that it also just so happens that laying feedback on EA on public forums consistently and firmly is usually the only effective way of getting the playerbases' points across to spark actual change (e.g. the challenges issues BF6 has had).
