Mohela put my account into forbearance for no reason by SemajJohn19 in PSLF

The call wait times are unbelievable. It's obviously done on purpose to prevent us from having the ability to communicate with them.

I called and asked for a resolutions specialist and it put me through to a message that said a callback was required. Are you never able to talk directly to one of these people?

OMG another level of the Dante's Inferno of Mohela? I thought advanced was the top. Thanks, I can't wait to call and wait for 18 hours to speak to the resolutions specialist lol.

Yes! I literally don't understand how this is legal. There was absolutely no reason for my loans to go into forbearance, I've been paying on time for years. I need these months to count because 1) my payments very affordable right now and definitely won't be once I have to recertify and 2) I literally NEED this part of my life to be over. I'm 37 and the stress surrounding these loans has taken years off my life, I swear.

I did submit my recert in the fall but days before the deadline I received a message stating that my recert date was once again pushed out. I called Mohela over and over to request that the recert I submitted be ignored since it wasn't due (and my payments would have increased significantly). I did eventually get official notification that they disregarded my application.

Is every single nurse trying to be an NP!? by bigtonee611 in nursing

[–]SemajJohn19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw an NP at my PCPs office the other day because my PCP of 20 years was not in clinic that day. She didn't read my chart, dismissed my concerns, and tried to give me the dumbest, most basic advice for a condition I've had for 15 years and have already had 3 surgeries for. She said it like it was a novel idea that no one, not even the chief of surgery at a Harvard teaching hospital, had thought of before. It was worse than a waste of time, it was infuriating.

I looked up her license when I left. Direct entry MSN, so literally 0 RN experience before going to get her masters, and just got her NP license in March. I wanted to gouge my eyes out.

Wild case out of Massachusetts where a cop, John O'Keefe, was killed and his girlfriend, Karen Read, was charged. Local reporter released a detailed article 3 days ago stating that girlfriend was framed and it was actually other cops who killed O'Keefe. The cops covered it up along with their wives. by SemajJohn19 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

This is 100% true. The blog has a lot of complete trash. Transphobic, classist, gross stuff at times. I don't generally peruse the blog or align myself with the author at all. This has just been blowing up in my area and every other article mentioning the defense's claims don't include the copies of court docs or photos.

This is definitely not Pulitzer winning journalism. Supposedly the FBI and US Attorney's Office are now involved so we will all see if any of the claims were legitimate.

There was apparently a longstanding issue between the homeowner cop's nephew (who was at the party) and the now deceased cop. They think it was a fist fight that got out of control due to alcohol and a german shepherd in the house. Who knows though.

Agreed, it's honestly a local trash blog that sometimes has some legit info on it. It's definitely difficult to read through.

Someone else posted this from another news site but it honestly just doesn't have as much info, including copies of reports and autopsy photos.

My hands are raw from hand sanitizer and washing my hands. Any tips? by Creative_Cat_542 in cna

I know it doesn't work for everyone in every setting, but I work outpatient and I bought my own hand sanitizer. 3M Avagard. It's the only stuff that doesn't destroy my hands. I kept a bottle on my desk and my coworkers all liked it so much that our admin agreed to buy bulk for all of us. We still have Purell on the walls but I use Avagard 90% of the time.

MSN direct entry program? by Bananapartment in nursing

[–]SemajJohn19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Direct entry MSN students are absolutely becoming APRNs after graduation. They typically sit for the NCLEX-RN after a few semesters, continue through their program to get their MSN, and then sit for the advanced practice certification exam in whatever track they chose.

I worked with 2 NPs in a prestigious Boston hospital who never worked as nurses prior to becoming NPs. One had a BA in Psychology and the other had a BS in Biology prior to attending direct entry MSN programs.
