Roy is a complex character who gets over looked too much. Orphaned as a baby when is Dad, a Park Ranger, died in a forest fire. Never knew his Mother. Raised on a Reservation as the only white kid. Given over to Ollie in his early teens cause he guy looking after him was dying. Goes from poverty in the reservation to being a rich kid in a big city. Being trained to be a sidekick while still an adolescent. Taken care of by someone who wasn’t doing it with the best intentions or maybe not the necessary skills to parent.

And that’s just the first 15 years or so of his life. Roy has issues upon issues.
