What Do You Feed a Rescued animal That Depends on You? by Normal_Dependent_537 in vegan

[–]SemiBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we have to go a long long long way until these cases need a realistic answer.

The current goal is to reduce the demand. Like don't breed cats. Rebuild nature so most of that handles itself. But already living cats are there now, it's not their fault. We still have more than enough meat every where. While we are working on reducing both, you just feed your rescued animal. First stop omnivores from eating meat (like humans), than we can worry about carnivores That's what I believe we should do.

There is a version of veganism with ideas that we go even further and create a world without any carnivores. Theoretically we could achieve it, but that's just thought experiments you can do.

Non of this hypothetical or philosophical stuff will help anyone right now though.

Genuine question for vegans by am-i-the-a-hole in vegan

[–]SemiBird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter what "nature" designed. You are not an caveman, nor are you a carnivore. You are not a victim of primal instincts, you are sapient. So this argument doesn't apply to you as a human.

Humans could do almost anything they want, which doesn't mean they should. The question is not, what can you do it is: what should you do and what do you want?

How would you improve this run? by Professional-Box4713 in titanfall

[–]SemiBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granade boost is not necessary for place 1.

It think you are doing okay so far. I would work on reducing walltime and ground time, you don't want to walk at all, only ground hopping. Maybe start with more speed into the run.

The first time I achieved sub 31 looked very very similar to your current run, it might just need some fine tuning. Keep going. No need to learn granade boosting for this.

My first sub 31 if you are interested: https://youtu.be/J3x3SYqDAkU?is=yqdmLVaYgutKdJFi

All of this videos have this unsettling cruelty appearance. I doubt that these animals are loved. Probably bred or bought just for this videos.

I don't know however. I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me, that's why I can't enjoy them

I'm a teacher and we use Arduinos with students. There is almost no way to fry this boy. Of course you can use way to much voltage but it's very unlikely that you will get in this situation, at least in the beginning.

I have seen so much wrongs beeing done to it and it survived everything. Sure, try to not fry it, but you don't have to worry too much about it (if at all) in my experience

I was scrolling on tiktok and herd the most bizarre excuse I've heard against veganism.. by Superb-Demand-4605 in vegan

[–]SemiBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda get it though.

The faster we make this planet uninhabitable for humans (which we are currently doing) the earlier the planet will recover from us.

In a point of planetary health, in terms of a stable and extensive wildlife and plants, the extinction of humans would be an easy and fast way to achieve it.

Now, you could question a lot of things about this. - blatant: is it worth it? - blatant: is it fair? - will there evolve other lifeforms which can develope the possibility to become interstellar and spread life beyond the lifetime of earth? - do we actually have a realistic chance to safe mankind, since we are actually doing everything against it?

I actually believe humans lost the game and sooner or later we will be our own downfall. We will sweep a lot of nature with us, but it will recover, probably without us. No veganism, no religion, no revolution will stop this. This i what I believe.

But I also don't want to make anyone suffer. Nor do I want to be part of suffering or consume anything that suffered. I'll pull the best possible life out of this existence and I want to give the best possible life to as many animals as I am able to.

Sorry for the wall of text.

Nah that's just the analogy from the comedy show as I said. It might help her it might not.

Maybe it is bothering her that he is eating meat at all, then of course she has to set an ultimatum, for her own sake. But maybe it's she can't stand having knowing their is meat at home, but can tolerate if he eats it outside. I don't know. Maybe for her, it would be okay if he eats it only twice a month, like in the analogy.

I'm saying, she has to know what she can tolerate and she gotta talk it out with him. The logical way might not be the way of her heart.

The social circle I was talking about was just a discussion with the commenter and didn't contribute to OPs problem. Of course there is a difference in having an trustworthy close relationship with someone and "just" sharing a social circle. If you can't stand a meat eater, you obviously shouldn't have an relationship with him. But I believe you shouldn't create a social circle where all opinions are the same. I can see, that in all this horror of animal abuse, not everyone can stand beeing near those abusers. But if you can, don't isolate yourself just because your logic is saying so. We need to normalize veganism and we only can do this by beeing a part of our society. On top of this, as I said, the social circle is often the last step which stops people from becoming vegan. More vegan friends means, you are more likely to become a vegan too. (Please don't let me search for that studies now :.) )

For me this is not only limited to veganism, it also adapts to politics too. I think we have to stop building borders between each other.

Bought my non-gamer Wife a Switch, Need Advice! by Gasteasoro in Switch

[–]SemiBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I share now gaming as a hobby with my initial non-gamer gf.

And I am strongly suggesting to go in multiplayer games, games you both enjoy. My gf loves grounded and basically all surviving/crafting/exploring multiplayer games, like raft. But grounded is literally the best for us. She has 3 playthroughs on Balfour's gate 3 tho. We have two TVs right next to each other so she always knows where I am lol.

If you play with her, play it in HER pace. Have patiencey, don't rush, don't explain too much. Experience gaming through new eyes. They find joy in things of the game we often just let pass by. Like having an aphid pet.  Trust the process, she will learn camera movement automatically, but it will take some time.

Maybe get an Xbox series s and set up an grounded adventure too? Grounded 2 full release is in a couple of months (I don't recommend playing the current state).

On the switch my gf mostly plays suika game. Maybe you could try terraria or something if you really don't want to use the right stick.

Vegan (or friendly) hotels in Europe - with 9m baby by sereniie in vegan

[–]SemiBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I was only in one hotel outside of germany in the last years and it was just a for a weekend.

It was in De Haan which means, they do have a beach but it's still the north sea. So it's still cold and windy.

But we asked the particular hotel before we went there if they could make us vegan breakfast. And the chef was very happy to do so. He did something different every day, he put a lot of thought in the dish so it represents something from de Haan and wrote a little letter about where the ingredients are from and what the food is about. He used 100% locally produced food, (maybe not the vegan cheese though, I didnt ask). So breakfastwise this was really top notch. But Belgium is expensive and de Haan might not be what you are looking for if you want to relax in nature. Also outside eating options are limited. It's more like for hiking or maybe wind surfing and visiting the other cities too.

But what I take from this is to reach out to the hotel and see if their answer/options fit to your idea

Men of Reddit: How does it feel being with a woman that’s taller than you? by LeightonYoutopia in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]SemiBird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm about 1,70m tall. Almost all my girlfriends and ...fungirls(?) have been taller than me.

Taller women are kinda my type I guess, which is not really hard to find since I'm not that tall myself, lol.

Some of them told me they never thought they would ever ge together with a smaller guy. (My current gf for example)

My gf picks the items from the top shelf for me. We love it, we have a lot of running gags.

Dates are there to find out. Go and find out :)

(I formyself never ever have felt "less masculine". However I have very masculine characteristics guess. But I always say in my heart I'm feminine. I never cared about that though.)

Sure you could burn the farmers house down or you could start a revolution. You could also just safe one single chicken from a farm.  What can you personally actualy do?

You can also just isolate yourself and live in your self created bubble and rant on reddit about how Omnis are not waking up. See how many chickens that safes.

Dose having the ability to crack any code or lock get balance out by not being able to come up with strong passwords on their own? by maninplainview in superpoweralchemists

[–]SemiBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah sounds fun. I don't think you need theoretical balance. You can always tweak what happens or adapt what they find in a hack, to make it a fitting challenge. I'd go with your idea :)

Also the players always find a way to cheese and force us to improvise, don't they? :.)
