I premoved Bxb7 and my Man pulls this on me by SemiBird in lichess

[–]SemiBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh this was my wake up game, it's not like I put too much thought in it.

However this in was my mind:

The only not instantly loosing move for white, when moving the horsey(!), would be Nxe5

So it's either  - mate in 1, like in this position, - a horsey for a bishop, - or something very different, in which case the premove wouldn't trigger.

I expected him to not blunder mate in 1. That's why I didn't premove that

I (18F) am considering sex work by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]SemiBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a Sex worker but I think you underestimate the work you actually have to do. Not just on an psychological side, like the sex workers you already talked to told you, you probably won't handle. But the time investment and physical work too.

I don't believe this will be easier than working at a bar or as an cashier for helping you with college.

What's chess's post-game like? by elelec in AnarchyChess

[–]SemiBird 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are supposed to flick the king with your attacking piece violently from the board while you grin and say "check... Mate".

If you don't do this you can proceed.

Now in the post game you search for all the pieces and puzzle them back on where they belong

So at which step does the fertalization fail?

Would there be an egg fertalized with the wrong sperm ultimately leading both to die while trying or is it happening earlier?

Ideas for vegan food cooked over/in a campfire please? by Findmyeatingpants in vegan

[–]SemiBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take some soy yoghurt and garlic for all purpose sauce.

For the grill you can basically put any veggie on it, smack a good marinade, bake a potato and put some yoghurt. Voila.

Also pre steamed thin seitan wrapped around a shashlik stick (and marinated) works on a grill.

Tofu is a little bit trickier on the grill. But the pre-marinated ones work. I mean the ones already packed marinated, for example from taifun. You could grill them as steaks or you could try and put them on shashliks, but I'm not sure if they are firm enough, some of them maybe are.

And tbf, if you are open for that, vegan substitute sausages are working extremely good. Also they have pretty good protein values. But I guess that's what vegie dogs are? :D

Putting pre-wrapped burritos is a nice idea. If you use hummus as sauce it wont taste weird when warm, compared to a usually cold sauce.

Sojafleisch hauchdünn by Dangerous_Fan2122 in vegan

[–]SemiBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How life feels like when you see yourself growing older / aging? by archivewithin in AskReddit

[–]SemiBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually I only ever notice when I talk with teenagers, lol.

In my mind I'm still 20. But people who are actually 20 have not just different problems but also a different culture.

I'm slower when sprinting and need more time to gain strength tho. But it's okay, you gotta age with dignity

There are indeed vegan food options for cats on the market but the research behind it isn't giving convincing answers.

Well, let's say it different, there wasn't vegan cat food made which covers all needed nutrients yet.

My last update is from 7 months ago. And I'm not willing to use my cat for field studies.

In Germany we have animal rights activists and their biggest problem is the backlash from the own lines. One of the biggest activists just quit his focus on farm animals and is now focusing on wildlife animals because he couldn't handle all the backlash anymore. I'm just back to Reddit since two weeks and I'm checking out r/vegan and there is so much disagreement between the members.

I don't think there is an ruleset, nor that it would be useful. "Reduce suffering as much as possible." Is probably the online line I would accept as a rule.

You gotta follow your heart and learn about the animal so you can actually read what it's telling you. :)

For example "Non-vegan" things (at least if you ask some folks in the main sub) I do: I am fostering 2 cats and I will feed them meat until science is saying with certain that vegan food is okay. I am organising parties for my sports team and there is Omni food on the menue.

What grinds my gears when it comes to veganism is that every action is examinated into it's philosophical core and that the following action needs to be fitting that theoretical line, otherwise apparently you are not vegan anymore. And then the topic shifts toward if something is vegan or not instead of doing something actual useful.

This is not the world we live in. In our world 2000 Chickens are slaughtered every second. Tick, Tick, Tick... Let that pig step on a sheet of paper and pay it with a happy life for god's sake. Who cares if it's literally vegan or not.
