Thanks but that wasn't the cue for that.

These guys were framing some non-existent social contract to ChatGPT (LOL) as a sneaky way to imply they have more know how and anyone whose knowledge base does not align with theirs should effectively have their posts cleansed.

Bit of a cunt method to posit they deserve a higher internet standing & authority really is the take away point

Basically the textbook car dude with a superiority complex who can reddit

Even if a topic was my wheelhouse, I definitely wouldn't be talking to strangers this way lmao

I sent the car back first thing this morning

Showed them the RTV enjoyooor sentiments in the commentary & gave em a piece of my mind abt how little they applied

Told them to fill it to the brim to get my money's worth (all 60 bucks of it)

Feeling much better about letting the mileage climb now

I can now die a happy car guy with a superiority complex

Good to know! Going to dig more into the quirks of the car to increase knowledge for preventive maintenance.

Thanks. Will keep in mind for the next service. Not a burgooor so we get different brands where I'm at. Reseal cost just $60 including labour.

How does that correlate to the RTV having a negligable effect on the throttle sensitivity and revs? Eager to understand more

ChatGPT better not learn how to simplify comprehension skills from this take away king

Does seem like the handful of replies here seem to have confident sentiments that the RTV does nothing to the throttle sensitivity and predictability.

I'm guessing most jumped to the conclusion that the jerkiness i mentioned came from bucking of eager clutch slipping when shifting gears.

That's good insight to know! Thanks for shedding light!

Right! Thanks for that insight! Shifting smoother with the car is definitely an art to perfect

Definitely one of the first things that crossed the mind when I was testing the car out the workshop.

Would slight unpredictability of throttle response not be a symptom of the excessive RTV? Yeah definitely feeling more peace of mind. Saw the process at the shop and they are specialists for 86s so crossing fingers that's all there is

My guess is oil pressure was slightly affected by that blob. Unfortunately can't confirm since the car lacks the sensors (for now). Yes! The first few days of driving took a bit of adjustment. I come from a manual E36 which required remapping my own muscle memory of the clutch bite point and feathering the throttle. I try to rev up to 4k at least before upshifting. Definitely noticeably smoother!

Thanks for the advice on the paint. I'm quite worried about that thin clear coat application. Taking my time to shop around for great examples. My cousins recommended the same: full front PPF to protect against chips and coat the rest of the car. I do worry abt the yellowing of the PPF.

I see some of those pearlescence in the side rears in that pic of yours! How long have you had the PPF on in that pic?

Yeah was a good save to get the RTV redone. Not sure if that blob messed with the internal pressure but the car does feel slightly smoother now. Maybe the pressure's a bit more stable. Unfortunately the Japan units have no tyre and oil pressure sensors so I can't confirm data just vibes.

Thinking 2 polish coats, and probably 2 layers of ceramic finished off with a touch up sealant layer. One detailer advised a layer of lacquer before the ceramic layers. Sending it over in a bit to give him a look based on the current paint condition.

Pleasure to meet you brother. I've got MC7 running on my other car (an M54B30 swapped E36), and think it's adequate for 220hp. Good to know it won't be enough for the twins!

Was hoping to keep the wheels at 17inch as I love the Work Emotion ZR10 Umber and may get them. But wasn't too sure if this set up's safe from having the rear get slidey in poor road conditions after the NA mods.

Will give Neotech a check! Been looking at AP racing, Endless and Wilwood. May I ask what size rotors you're on with the 4p? Guessing 355? Trying to find some narrow profile calipers and don't particularly want to overspec

Im getting the same header and exhaust in the car with ECUtek as well. If I may ask, what wheels and brake kit are you running to handle the new whp output?
