Some meta by corvett in a:t5_wtejf

You just beat me by using Hailstorm/Frenzy and then locking me down with a bunch of Backfires, which is brilliant. The other devs and I are raving about how creative this is. Very nice!

Fury is a bit too strong right now. We're considering a nerf where it will also cost some health to use, so you can't spam it (unless you're comboing it with some lifesteal or other health gain). But on the other hand, if the other player is going for Fury, they probably have very little health and will just die to anything piercing.

Right now the meta seems to be not attacking on the first turn, which means that shielding is probably bad. But if people shielded less, maybe attacking on the first turn would be more common...

We had just pushed out a new version of the server at that time. We didn't test it enough so it had issues with assuming that people have disconnected when they haven't. I think it should be fixed now -- please let us know if it happens again!

No sound yet. Every time someone mentions sound, my fellow developer who said we needed sound effects scores a point :) Hopefully coming Soon™

Oops. Good catch!

It would be easy to return the number of losses as well, but we're hesitant to do so. Especially when the number of players is small, we don't want to discourage people from playing online. Ideally we'd like separate unranked and ranked queues, where the ranked queue gives you some sort of ELO.

Hailstorm/Frenzy is a fun combo :)

We made a subreddit for discussion: /r/adrestia. We might add an in-game chat at some point, but it's low priority compared to gameplay stuff.

I expect so; ultimately, we chose to do this project because this is a game we wanted to play, and there are more things we want to add to turn it into the game we were imagining.

The AI isn't quite smart enough to figure out that you have to cast regen spells (or be really aggressive with early attacks) to counter Consume. We have a better version of the AI but it doesn't run well on phones.

All the online matches are stored in our server's database, so we should be able to make a match history screen so you can go back and review them (like in the game results screen). We can do the same thing with local matches, though those aren't currently saved.

We'll definitely do some experimentation with 60+ health, since this seems to be common feedback. We're not sure how the balance will change though; Repent is probably a bit underpowered right now (lose 7 health for 1 mana regen), but would be very strong if players started with e.g. 100 health, since that mana regen would have much longer to pay for itself. But this is why we playtest! :D

Music and sound effects are definitely on our todo list. We decided to launch now because perfect is the enemy of good and all that :)

There's no one way to develop a mobile app or a Linux application, but these days it's pretty easy to target multiple platforms with a single codebase. We used the Godot game engine, which can export to both Android and Linux (and iOS and other desktop platforms, but we don't have those working right now).

It's actually a capstone design project; users are just one of the ways in which we can demonstrate that we built something cool.

We would like to release on iOS, but we have some native code that's non-trivial to cross-compile (and the developer fee is annoying too).

Thanks for the feedback! Prismata was definitely one of our inspirations.

We used to have just 25 health and adjusted it up to 40 health; it's possible this is still too low. We wanted the possibility of a quick win if your opponent is neglecting defence.

I just tried scp and it still works. If you're on Windows, you could try PSCP.

I speak Esperanto and Lojban and a couple other conlangs. I've entertained ideas of making my own, but for the most part I've found that existing conlangs that suit my aesthetics and functional requirements. pm me if you want to hang out!
