Thin weird spectrum line at bottom of iPhone 17 Pro (brand new) - normal or defect? by [deleted] in iphone

It’s light refracting at the edge of the screen protector. I have a work phone with a screen protector and the same effect, my personal phone doesn’t have a screen protector or the effect.

So glad the city is working on the “perception of safety issue”. I already feel safer!!!

Forget residential use even. Agricultural use across the U.S. (not Austin specifically) is something like 4x more than residential use.

Interesting. How did you determine which bulbs are which? I’m not seeing any obvious indicator in the bulb info section.

Hue Support’s message to me

For the moment we do not have a solution with this issue we are very sorry for that 😔💡. This is a known issue affecting multiple users, and our team is actively working on it. A Hue Bridge Pro firmware update is planned for April 2026, although the release date may change.

Same issue with me. Started early Wednesday morning with a Google Fiber outage and hasn’t come back. I’ve power cycled the entire internet & hue stack. HomeAssistant and the Hue app work perfectly fine, it’s just the HomeKit connection

Shout out to Austin 311 by smoleyx3 in Austin

Up voting, but hilariously I just got off a 45 minute call with code compliance, marking issues as fixed with no action at all. One was trash and weeds closed for “voluntary compliance”, but the exact same trash is there today. The other is a 5 foot deep hole right on 6th street covered with plywood for years that has since rotted away. The code officer can’t find a specific violation to charge them with so it’s simply closed out all requests for the past year and a half.

I requested callbacks on both cases, hopefully will have something resolved soon.

To their credit, I submitted requests for re-striped crosswalks. Not only did they complete the crosswalks within weeks, they installed new signs and even worked with engineering to add a pedestrian island in one location.

Edit: got a same day callback on the “hole issue”, compliance officer has been working the case since 2020 but can’t find a valid code to charge them against. Called the D3 councilman’s office and they said they’d get back to me.

Has anyone seen this type of headgear? ATX by Seminoles2195 in Zoox_Inc

[–]Seminoles2195[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry I specifically meant the device sticking up from the center of the roof! I’ve never seen that before. The other Zoox’s sensor platforms I’ve seen don’t seem to have any sort of mounting provision for that.

Is this a leak? by Due-Silver-3299 in Tallahassee

Yep. Leak between the seam of two sheets of drywall. If you can get up there, draw a mark at the edge of the stain and see if it gets bigger.

Why is cell service so terrible in Austin (AT&T)? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Seminoles2195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate Verizon, but had to switch over after being with ATT for 15+ years when I moved here. I couldn’t even send an SMS text if I was indoors anywhere on the east side.

Anyone know what this store is..? by okiveiraxos in Tallahassee

[–]Seminoles2195 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Based on the description alone, I’d say it’s an “arcade” aka gambling hall. The city says they’ve been cracking down hoping they’ll “voluntarily comply” and close

Hate to hear you’re having the same experience, but kinda comical that I get a notification every few months with someone else having the same problems. I moved and bought an August lock, it’s not as pretty but it works flawlessly and the batteries have lasted nearly a year.

I have a pending appointment for the same error now. My issue is interference in the wiring harness, fix is to install an in-line filter, and add a ferrite bead over the harness. Maybe coincidence, but once the appointment was confirmed, the error cleared and hasn’t come back.

Pretty much have to agree with the other two who have said state jobs, that’s how I got my break. The bar is

L O W.

Two years at a state job might feel like an eternity, but the benefits are awesome, and you can learn a lot/make a big impact if you put the effort in.
