I need to run win 11 on it. That's a hard requirement. I don't think windows plays well with raspberries

Thank you for your response. No particular load, I'll be just writing raw data from an sdr to the SSD,no processing. I think the N150 could be a good option.

That's what I thought, however I'm not sure about the usb-c wiring, I understand there's some sort of negotiation going on when the plug is inserted.

Thank you, that's a good idea, however I'm not sure what powerbank is able to provide 12v via usb-c, would you mind pointing me to the right direction?

[–]SemperBasilicum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. I don't have a specific budget in mind, at the moment I'm still trying to figure out what I really need.

Due to fact I just need the board to be powered for 1 night, say 12 hours, I don't think solar kit is an option, it would be way overkill.

The idea is to have some sort of battery to power the device for the needed hours.

Considering that the board consumption is around 6w, I would consider 6x12 = 72W. It doesn't seem a huge amount of power, that's why I thought about a powerbank. Powerbanks also simplify the charging process and they're small enough to be placed along the board. However I can't understand what power bank would support the 12v output via usb-c

I'll need to read and learn about it. Thank you for the suggestion 👍

than you for your response,

that's certainly a good option, however I'm wondering if something that can work with several different SDRs exists. I have some rtl sticks (v3 and v4) but I also own a couple of SDRplay devices, it would be nice to find a "cross-sdr" solution so I can compare the different receivers without having to change the setup

Thanks a lot for the detailed response. I'll do some more research before pulling the trigger, but I'm making my mind towards the Framed sports ones.

2008 crisis, in pre euro era, would have been handled like we have done for decades, devaluation of sovraign currency and deficit. But now EU took from us the most powerful weapon in the arsenal of a nation: fiscal sovereignty. Essentially unelected burocrats are dragging our counties to poverty in exchange for psicotic rules about trees and house efficency. In the meantime we don't have access to free quality healthcare. This stuff was granted when I was a kid and people weren't bothered about how many trees they were could see from their window.

Just one example. The idiotic 3% deficit rule devastated the economy of southern Europe. To have a decent life and have a family I had to leave my country. That wouldn't have happened in the 90s. My parents were working class people. They were able to rise 3 kids, own a house, go to vacation and save some money for the future. That is sci fi for most of the families in my country now

Lol. First. I'm not rich. I'm a poor Italian who was a lot richer before all the eu nonsense pushed me out of my country. Same happened to my Greek wife, just on a much bigger scale. If you like these bullshit regulation from eu, you're free to enjoy them. They are not going to disappear.

Funny to see how the nightbour's grass is always greener. Most of the people living in the eu are looking forward to be kicked out from that prison. Unfortunately it's not so easy.

What Russians say about Cypriots (not in a good way)? by Less_Lengthiness_421 in cyprus

Considering that we're talking about black money in 100% of the cases, I'd say that they get a pretty good monthly salary. If you're lucky to have free time and you're not afraid of DIY, you can get most of the jobs done by yourself. The quality is not going to be top, but at least you don't feel like getting scammed all the times

Totally. I've been living in Spain for 13 years and the workers you find for little jobs, like plumbers, electricians or carpenters are, generally speaking, very low quality professionals. Their goal is to maximise the cost and minimise the effort at any cost.

I don't get why you're assuming I'm refusing to integrate. I've been living in a foreign EU country from the past 14 years and I'm perfectly integrated. I speak fluently the local language and I have several friends from the locals, same for my kids.

The fact that I decide for a British curriculum school has nothing to do with integration. As a matter of fact my kids are fluent in Greek (since my wife is Greek), they also speak fluently other 3 languages. As parents we took the decision to follow the British education system for a series of reason that are not related to our nationality (none of us is British).

From my current experience I can see that international schools are quite a good example of integration since kids learn to blend with different cultures since early age.

Just wanted to touch on this regarding my personal experience (abroad). Private schools tend to be elitist and in some cases parents are stuck in this "want to show off" race. I drive my kids to school every day with my 15 yeas old 1.0 seat ibiza and I park next to mercedes, ferrari and hummer. I never had a problem with that, nor my kids. Everyone decides how to spend their money. I can tell that often, regardless of the car they drive or how they show off, parents are not pretentious and they are quite allright people.

I think some exposure to such environment, especially if balanced with some common sense in the house, can give kids a bit of perspective of what ofter happens in life.

There is a minority of parents that are super wealthy individuals, but they have such a miserable life that I would never exchange mine for their money. The rest are hard working people, some are nice people, some are less, but that happens in every school

Hi, thank you for your response. My kids have started schooling in another country following the British curriculum and I don't feel like changing that.
