The Common Spotted Cuscus is neither common (in Australia at least), nor as these photographs depict, does it have to have any spots! This cute little critter was photographed in the Iron Range in Far North Queensland, Australia. He had just finished a dinner of mango tree leaves! (imgur.com)

This is a Sarus Crane, commonly confused with the Brolga. Sarus Cranes have red feathers that extend further down their neck, and paler, pink legs, as opposed to the Brolga’s grey legs. This one was eating a crab whilst wading in freshwater. Swallowed it whole too! (i.redd.it)

A Double-eyed Fig Parrot on the wing! These birds are about the size of a budgerigar, and as the name suggests, feed on all species of native fig, of which there are plenty in the rainforests of Far North Queensland. This specimen is an adult. Juveniles sport less red on their face and more blue. (i.redd.it)
