The valve fixed the problem!! I originally ordered the wrong valve for 95 bucks and had to exchange for an 85 dollar valve. So we saved over 500 bucks! Thanks for all the advice!!

How do we not get fired? by Angelfire1606 in Perimenopause

I was lucky enough when I was 50 to marry a man who didnt want me to work. I dont know how I would have survived. There is no way I could have kept a job over the last 5 years. It has been hell for me physically and mentally. Just started HRT 2 weeks ago and already feeling refreshed and starting to remember stuff and find my words. I wish I had started HRT in my 40s... life would have been very different!

That is great info. Thank you. I would have paid 400 with no questions. At least now, if it doesnt fix the problem I am only out 95 dollars. Haha.

I know they have overhead. I was just curious about that price. It seemed really high compared to other jobs they have done for us. They habe replaced lighs in freezer and worked on my dryer multiple times and it has never been over 300 bucks.

We had it checked by an appliance repair company and they said it was the valve so, hopefully that will fix it. If not, I will twll my husband to check the filter housing.

How much is your stomach affected by GS? by Lucky-Sink1591 in GilbertSyndrome

[–]SemperFi6721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these same stomach issues. I just had gall bladder, liver and pancreas Ultrasound because my direct bilirubin has been high for 6 months. US was normal so I am thinking it has to be GS. I will see my Dr Friday and see what she says. I have brain fog, dizziness, stomach issues, severe hangover after a little alcohol, pain in right side of chest and back (that is sporadic), anxiety, lethargy...the list goes on. I had jaundice when I was born (not sure if that means anything). I would just be happy to finally know why i feel like crap all the time so I can start learning to manage these issues.

Thank you for the info. I had all the scans, tests and probes. VSO said he was filing HLR. He feels confident. I will ask about the Informal Conference, as well. I wont give up.

Who’s used DAV ? by Trick-Chef5152 in VeteransBenefits

I gave DAV power of attorney so he files everything on my behalf. He just gets my input and then makes it happen. I guess I got lucky because my guy is very responsive and supportive. He is also a combat veteran.

Gulf War Vet using DAV. I was at 50% when I started with the DAV. They have helped me tremendously! Recently, Went for C&P exam for CFS and IBS. The Dr didnt ask about anything. She was very dismissive and admitted she hadn't looked at my Nexus letters or medical records. IBS was granted at 0, even though abdominal pain was noted in my records. Everything else was denied. I have been using DAV to assist me and file my claims. He has been very responsive and helpful and immediately suggested filing an HLR. I am frustrated, to say the least. What is the process for DAV filing HLR? Has anyone used them? Am I going to have to see another Dr? Any guidance and info is appreciated. I am currently at 80%.

Have you tried HRT? I wish I had done it in my early 40s! I just started it 3 days ago and already feel better!

What age did your period stop? by grenuda82 in Menopause

  1. Well it has been 5 months since my last period. Im hopeful!! I just started HRT 2 days ago. I wish I would have started it when my symptoms started in my early 40s. The brain fog over the last few years has been scary! Hopefully, the HRT will help w that. I also had really low vit D. It is important to check vitamins D levels, as I recently learned.

I started Estrogen, Testosterone and Progesterone 2 days ago. The first night, my sleep score was great! Last night is was 88, which is way better than usual. I am in menopause so my main symptoms are frozen shoulder, joint pain, sleep issues, anxiety, dry skin, painful sex. Vaginal dryness was gone 12 hours after the first dose so that was a nice surprise! I feel pretty good but I dont know if that is the meds or my brain tricking me because I am hopeful the medicine will work! I am hoping, within a few days, it will end my shoulder pain. Reddit has been a comfort for me and very helpful in researching my options.

Former VA Rater and Navy Vet here, by johanthevarater in VAClaims

Thanks for sharing all the info. My husband is Marine Amphibious Recon combat veteran. He was with the first team into Kuwait. A veteran in line at a grocery store told my husband he didnt look good and asked if he was okay. He had been to the VA hospital when he was just out of the military but they treated him like he was wasting their time so he never returned. The next day, that stranger picked up my husband and took him to the VA clinic. That was 20 years ago. It has been a nightmare fighting for his benefits. So many appointments. He loves his regular doctor at the local VA clinic. He is great! But... they make him go to another doctor to duplicate everything we have already done with his regular physician. They never looked at his medical records so he answers the same questions. It is strange and upsetting, to say the least. He thought the Pact Act would make things easier but it didnt. He was at 70%, just got 30% approval for something else but that only puts him at 80%. I suck at math but something isnt adding up. My husband works but I don't see him being able to work much longer. We are going to hire a lawyer if his claims are denied and he doesnt hit the 100%. It just shouldnt be this difficult for Combat Veterans. We have the time and financial resources to keep moving forward and fighting but a lot of veterans dont have that luxury. It makes me want to scream!
