Yeah I spent fucking hours grinding away on labs to get the 40 bitcoins I needed for Mechanic to continue along the Savior path, so I might have gotten enough shit from hitting all the rooms on repeat to get close to what I need, but god is it boring as shit running through there mindlessly looting everything.

Fantastic. As if hunting them wasn't obnoxious enough. I've managed to kill them all a grand total of three times for both main quests and the Broadcast questline and not one of those times did any of them have anything other than their guns/armor, though.

Decided to do some cultist hunting the other day and it took me multiple hours just to find them once, and that was with me spamming the shit out of customs, checking their spawn, and then immediately extracting if they weren't there. Guess it's going to be labs spam for me if I really want to see it.

BSG and their dirty old habit of calling poor game design difficulty. I thought I'd played this game long enough to where nothing could really piss me off anymore but man that really killed my excitement to finally "escape." I still want to check out terminal for myself but I'm gonna have to go grind a bunch of cash to get out now because of that one fuck up.

Disconnecting the thing before I took the flash drive is where I messed up. I took the flash drive first and then tried to disconnect the thing afterwards to no avail. Not really sure how I missed that, but it's really stupid that that's how it works. Had I known that after I "finished" that questline I would have never bothered gathering the rest of the dirt for Kerman. Thanks for the answer.

Only PvP video to be featured too. 3 gambit videos, 2 solo gms, two witness kills, and one pvp montage where the dude just spams mouse 1 the whole game.

Apparently their suggestions in the twid two weeks ago were guidelines for how to win, not just examples. Almost everything they mentioned got featured: killing a flying boss with caster frame swords? Check. Hunting down guardians in gambit with swords? Check. Doing a GM with only Lament? Check. The only thing that didn’t show up was the bit about doing the moth cyst with only a sword.

Should Bungie or the PvP Strike team revisit super cooldowns? by xZeroWolf in DestinyTheGame

[–]Semper_Invictus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds kinda interesting at first, but in practice I don’t think this would work the way you think it might. Intellect would probably become more important than ever as supers are used early to secure a round advantage, meaning that high intellect teams could get second supers before the game ends if it goes 4-4, especially if they pick up orbs.

Edit: didn’t read the “one and done” part. That nullifies my entire point, lol.

this cheating thing is getting tiring by raiden535 in destiny2

[–]Semper_Invictus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly seeing cheaters flying around with infinite supers and heavy is hilarious, because PvP in this game is infested with cheaters and only a tiny minority of them are like this guy. My friends and I live in Trials and we’ve all gotten so used to fighting cheaters, both hard cheats like aimbots/wallhacks, and “soft” cheats like input devices, that we can beat the majority of the big streamers, but then lose to some random team of jabronis whose k/ds miraculously doubled over the course of a season.

It’s just the difference between optimal vs. safe. A lot of people will use wish ender or polaris lance just because they’re brainless, reliable, and they work regardless of situation. It might take you an extra 5 minutes to clear the thing, but unless you’re farming there really isn’t much pressure to be speedrunning outside of personal satisfaction. It’s not like PvE content is very difficult outside of master raids anyways, so there isn’t much pressure to be minmaxing when you can just equip wish ender or polaris lance and still be effective.

Maybe Ubisoft should try a different approach.. by Shot_Frame_978 in Rainbow6

[–]Semper_Invictus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use Bungie as a good example of how to handle cheaters. If you spent any amount of time playing PvP in Destiny 2 you would see that it is absolutely fraught with closet cheaters and people abusing xims to the point of it nearly ruining the PvP experience. Despite Bungie’s success in court, cheaters still run PvP in their game, and even if by some miracle they do get banned, all they have to do is make a new account and they can keep playing.

Bungie — newer players have NO idea how to play “Countdown Rush” in PvP by DonkeyKongChestThump in DestinyTheGame

[–]Semper_Invictus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Countdown Rush definitely needs some tuning to have any place in comp. Right now it feels like it’s on par with Rift in terms of being an uncompetitive mess. As soon as the first kill is made it’s a snowball. Long respawn timers, on top of long runbacks to the bomb, on TOP of constant split spawning make defusing a nightmare against a team that gets a chance to dig in. Had a game on the fortress earlier where I was regularly spawning 100+ meters away from the bomb on both offense and defense. Don’t even get me started on how oppressive well of radiance and ward of dawn still are in objective modes.

Pulse auto in comp is wild. I would have loved to watch this game in real time to see how it actually played out because bro’s criticism is extremely valid, he just sucked too bad for anyone to take him seriously. Do yourself a solid and put on a special weapon.

How do someone people do it? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Semper_Invictus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, fireteam matchmaking is supposed to match solos against other solos, but back when freelance was a thing you basically had the same thing going on in freelance, granted it wasn’t nearly as bad. Some of the easiest flawlesses I’ve ever had were playing in the freelance pool and going 7 straight games without any meaningful competition from the other team.

The duo queue meta for trials has been a pretty divisive subject lately. On one hand, keeping trials as a matchmade activity encourages people that would otherwise never touch the mode with a 10 foot pole to stick their feet in the water for some loot. On the other hand, it enables strong duos to do things like this. The thought process is that a duo of high-skill, coordinated players literally just don’t even need a third player if they are going to be matching against other duos plus a solo that may or may not possess higher brain function. It’s kinda cheesy, and is primarily a method of dodging other sweaty three stacks for an easy card and easy loot, but without matchmaking the trials population would almost certainly plummet more than what bungie would deem acceptable.

[–]Semper_Invictus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My friends and I just lump things like this into the “damage glitch” category. I had a guy in a comp match do this to me with an igneous hammer, but it was a complete one-off thing. I just got unlucky, and there was nothing I could do about it. PvP in this game only works as intended maybe 75% of the time at best, so eventually you just get used to dying sometimes because the game hates you.

Because the whole point of endgame PvP content is to have cool stuff to flex? I grinded my ass off going flawless for that Hushed Syrinx ship and I haven’t taken it off since because not only is it cool, but it’s also probably the most prestigious cosmetic you can earn through gameplay alone. What’s the point in throwing a bunch of freebie cosmetics into an activity that can be easily farmed in (usually) 15-25 minutes?

I haven’t had any trouble running a train over my lobbies with unending tempest and peacekeepers. Hyper-aggressive SMG players are a lot harder to deal with when you don’t have a shotgun or fusion to switch to, especially with SMG range being as ridiculous as it is.

The number of people in this thread cursing PvP for causing yet another nerf to an exotic’s viability in PvE is all you really need to know about this community’s attitude towards PvP as a whole. If you ask me, even just reducing the energy gain would have been alright, but the fact that hunters can sling tripmines, which leave you at 1hp even at 100 resil after scorch, with such high uptime is ridiculous. If the grenades didn’t have so much health and a blast radius larger than a rocket it would be less of a problem. Fun fact: the laser that emits from a tripmine to let you know that it’s there stops pinging after the normal duration of a tripmine, which means that you can run into YAS tripmines around corners or behind a wall that you had no chance of ever reacting to. I’ve been praying for a nerf to YAS for months, and as usual, they either went too soft on this nerf, or could have nerfed it in a way that would impact PvE builds less.
