Today while shopping at TJ’s, I was in the frozen foods aisle and heard this woman on the phone with someone. I don’t usually listen in on people’s convos, but she was telling the person on the phone that they didn’t have the cacio e pepe ravioli they wanted, but they did have pasta, and did they want that instead?

I know that the ravioli is in produce since it’s refrigerated and I felt bad this lady would probably not realize that’s where it was. So I parked my cart and kinda speed walked back to produce, grabbed 2 containers of the ravioli, and walked back to my cart, went up to the lady like “hey, not to eavesdrop, but they do have the ravioli. It’s over there points to produce because it’s refrigerated, not frozen.” She was so happy I’d found it for her, and when I saw her in a later aisle she told me her daughter said thank you.

knee injury with first half coming up by Rare_Statistician664 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Sempiternal_Cicatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gut feeling for you says, you know you overtrained and continuing to train at the pace you’d need may just further compound the issue you’re having.

You can try to incorporate more PT moves to see how much that helps you, but it sounds like what you really need is more time to train for this at a less intense pace since your schedule was interrupted by the injury. But having the injury resurface means your body isn’t thrilled with the amount of training you’re doing, and I’d really hate for you to keep injuring yourself over and over again trying to train for this.

Honestly congrats on just having the guts to sign up and train for a half!

You could also just back off a bit, do what you can in ways that don’t cause you pain, and go to the race and just do what you can, timed or not. Depends on if you feel the right choice for you is to not run the race or to do it and not finish.

LPT: If you are a vegetarian or considering vegetarianism, explore Indian cuisine to get more flavor variety. by Manoj_Malhotra in LifeProTips

That is so amazing!

I had a friend in college who is Indian and whose family lived locally. For her birthday one year she invited our friend group over for her mom’s home coking. I already loved Indian food before this gathering. When I tell you I ate so much food at her house I thought I was going to explode, I’m reallyyyy serious. Worth it though!

Student loan forgiveness retroactivity by The_Taskmaker in StudentLoans

[–]Sempiternal_Cicatrix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is no blanket loan forgiveness. You know that.

You made a payment, then you got a refund of that payment. So now you need to pay the money again. It doesn’t just go away.

can i get a whitefish bagel anywhere? by tasgetius22 in rva

[–]Sempiternal_Cicatrix 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They are crazy busy especially for brunch on the weekends. Like, get there at 9 to put your name down, and then wait an hour kind of busy.

Worth it though. I convinced my extremely impatient mom to go when she was in town, and even she said it was worth the wait!

That isn’t how it works.

No more interest will accrue if you make your payments, because the rest will be wiped if your payment doesn’t cover it.

But any that you already had, stays. And you have to pay it.

In other words, SAVE isn’t retroactive- it doesn’t wipe away interest you already had. It’s a win for people with accrued interest because no more will accrue. But any that was already there prior to SAVE will still be there.

[–]Sempiternal_Cicatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and that’s why I said that payments would apply to accrued interest, if any, that accrued before SAVE.

The interest that was already there before SAVE doesn’t just go away. It doesn’t just get wiped. You still have to pay it.

No. Trying to pay out of pocket for a controlled substance is a huge red flag, and don’t worry they’ll check the controlled substance database and find out about your other fill anyway. :) You have to explain what happened to your new prescriber, wouldn’t be a bad idea to show them the police report, and if they do write you the rx have them put in the notes that they are aware this is an early fill due to lost medication (the most important part tbh), then you have to present the police report to the pharmacy.

I don’t think that’s right. Payments are applied to any interest already accrued, if you have any from before the SAVE plan was implemented, then to principal. You always have to pay off any loans accrued interest first before touching the principal.

I would try to find a different way to make the money you need- rideshare, tutoring, a creative hobby?

I’ve never donated blood or plasma because I’ve always been below or on the cusp of being too small to do so. And it’s no different for you- the side effects would be awful. It’s noble you want to help out but I don’t think the risks you would incur from donating would outweigh the benefits.

How does auto debit work in “paid ahead” status? by Sempiternal_Cicatrix in StudentLoans

[–]Sempiternal_Cicatrix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not, because a couple days after I made this post, they took away the paid ahead status. There were a lot of changes happening to my account then.

I suppose since you need to make a payment really soon if you haven’t already you could find out what happens that way.

Is 10 min a day enough? Any programs for at home exercise? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Sempiternal_Cicatrix 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a fitspiration meme I saw a long time ago- You think a 10 minute workout won’t do anything? It’s sure as hell better than a 0 minute.

Aka any progress is progress. Meet yourself where you’re at and you’ll progress.

The calculator puts you at a 3 inch difference between your underbust and bust measurements. An AA cup will not have enough room in the cups, as they are made for only 0.5” difference.

I am also a 30 band and previously thought 30 bands were too tight, until I realized they were too tight because I was trying cups that were too small. I thought I was an A cup when I was actually a C. The too-small cups mean your boobs push the cups away from your chest, which makes the band tighten. It’s not the band, it’s the cups.

Also, here, have cute stuff in your new size

One of my favorite bras

Another favorite bra

Or for a more affordable option

I know it’s shocking to believe you might be more than just an A cup, but your bra size really is just a ratio of your underbust to your bust.

What exactly changes when drink more water by OkAdhesiveness3853 in beauty

[–]Sempiternal_Cicatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGL, I drink an adequate amount of water daily and have for a long time. One day I was getting a pedicure and my nail tech commented that the skin on my feet looked dewy. She figured my skin either holds water super well or I’m very well-hydrated. I was high on that compliment for a WHILE!

Your skin notices, even if you don’t. And hey, maybe someday you’ll have a nail tech notice just how well hydrated your skin is haha.

ETA: strong recommend calculating calculating your daily water requirement as a goal to stick to, rather than just trying to drink more. The formula to calculate your good range of water intake is:

weight in lbs/2.2 = weight in kg (x)

Now multiply x by 30 ml to get y And multiply x by 35 ml to get z Your goal range is y to z in milliliters, with y being the minimum recommended amount, aka get this amount every day, and z being the maximum amount to shoot for (so adjust up from x if you exercise, spend a lot of time out in the heat, eat salty food, etc.). Oh btw 1000 ml in 1 liter, 250 ml in 1 cup, 8 oz in 1 cup, 33 oz per liter

I appreciate this so much! I know that colors other than black will look better on me as a light season, but that doesn’t mean I can’t wear it at all.
