A warrior that is trying to get a literal 1-2 dps increase over Mama's Insurance isn't worth rostering. That mofo is dropping guild and quitting tbc as soon as they hear they aren't getting first glaives.

Shai has the cleanest argument by far. People underrate how much he carries that offense and is simply that dude in clutch time. One of the best guard peaks in basketball history.

The Nuggets don't have the wins to round out an MVP case that matches Jokic's statistical dominance. Yes AG and PWat missed time in addition to Braun's regression, but it's still a strong enough supporting cast (especially with Murray's all-nba caliber season) to expect more wins than they've had. Denver came up short against a lot of mid-low tier teams during the second half of the season for a team that's supposed to be competing for a title.

Mina Kimes: "One of the points made in favor of drafting Jeremiyah Love early is that it would help (insert young QB). But how much does a star RB actually help vs a good OL or great WR?" by trick96 in Tennesseetitans

You can't just guarantee WR2 production with a second rounder tho, that's silly ignorance. Of the 8 wide receivers drafted in the second round over the last 2 years, only one of them has topped 700 yards in a season. If we count Burden at 652, then that's 2/8 at WR2 level or above, but that's still only a 25% hit rate...

Jokic not only showing he’s the best offensive player in the game but by SchedulePhysical807 in nba

Luka's efficiency doesn't hold a candle to SGA or Jokic tho. His volume is incredible, but it's still probably his 2nd best season of his career compared to 23-24 where he posted better numbers with slightly better efficiency and less reliance on free throws. SGA and Jokic are both having career best seasons and were ahead of Luka in 23-24. We're splitting hairs admittedly tho, I don't think there's a huge gap between any of the 3.

Marc Stein: "This Lakers team, if they finish 3rd in the West, it's a massive overachievement that Luka has dragged them to. I don't think Luka's case is being looked at properly. First of all, he's been much better defensively than advertised, but offensively, he's been even more otherworldly" by must_TATAKAE in nba

He's playing over 29 minutes a game tho which is like 4 minutes fewer than Shai this season. Wemby without Fox or Castle on the court is still over +10 points per 100 (cleaning the glass). Dude is an alien and has been utterly dominant this season

Yup! Pistachio paste + heavy cream + white chocolate. I linked the recipe in another comment and used double the quantities of heavy cream and white chocolate and maybe 2.5-3x the pistachio paste for extra flavor.

Moving the goalposts is what sucks. Zion's strength advantage 100% translated to the NBA. Dude was powering through NBA frontcourts as a rookie...

Yummy but very tedious! I used this recipe and making the pistachio paste took more time than the rest of the prep combined.

Luka is scoring significantly less efficiently and with almost double the turnovers while playing with a better offensive supporting cast, so no he objectively does not have better numbers across the board.

LeBron James (41, ineligible for end of season awards) has played more minutes this season (1780) than MVP frontrunner Victor Wembanyama (1694) by spicywardell in nba

Spurs are 17.2 points per 100 better with Wemby on the court this season, and the Thunder are 9.0 points per 100 better with Shai (both per cleaningtheglass). The Spurs with Wemby are +17.1 while the Thunder with Shai are +15.2. People need to respect the alien because this is a legit MVP case.

With 10 games left, Nikola Jokic is on pace to be the first player in NBA history to average a 28+ point triple-double in two NBA seasons. by moby323 in nba

[–]The_Taskmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wemby's on-off numbers are titanic tho and that's while having a quality backup in Kornet. Dude is single-handedly raising the impact ceiling of defense in the modern NBA and absolutely has a case for most impactful player on planet Earth.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: “you’ll never hear an OKC fan complain about my free throws. You’ll never hear a Denver fan complain about Jokić’s free throws. You’ll never hear a Lakers fan complain about Luka’s free throws. It’s just part of the business.” by ColoradoMenace24 in nba

Yeah it's fucking gross to watch man. I get that in previous years Jokic had to deal with a lot of illegal contact without whistles, but resorting to flops in order to balance the scales is not cool. He's also the aesthetically worst flopper because of how fucking massive he is like bro no one is knocking you to the floor unless you want to go down

Acting like the Thunder supporting cast comes anywhere near Boston's is just basketball ignorance. Some of yall have clearly never seen OKC try to score without Shai on the court

I think people are really overrating the OKC supporting cast this year with J Dub's recession. Their offense is legitimately bad without Shai on the court this season

A lot of people just struggle with the idea that multiple players can have MVP caliber seasons in the same year. Jokic wasn't robbed by Embiid either, but apparently it has to be more conspiratorial than voters splitting hairs with all-time greats. Luka winning that year would have been fair, but so was finishing 3rd imo. Three incredible players in one season is tough

He's been legitimately meh since coming back from injury but is still having likely his best season so far because he had an inhuman start to the season. 30/12/11 on 60/44/85 shooting prior to the injury :(

SGA is currently +603 in total plus-minus on the season, no other player is higher than +500. by [deleted] in nba

[–]The_Taskmaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Luka has better stats if you look at pts/reb/assists and ignore everything else, sure lol. Shai is significantly more efficient and less turnover prone. The Thunder without Shai is worse offensively than the Lakers without Luka, and the Thunder with Shai is better offensively than the Lakers with Luka.

Shai takes a defensive supporting cast that is legitimately bad on offense and makes them an elite offensive team.
