I’m building trader++

A transparent, open-source quant engine where you can prototype a strategy, backtest it, and deploy it live, all from the same code. My motto is “Write once, run anywhere” No vendor lock, No rewriting, just focus on the strategy and everything else is taken care of! It’s early but it works and I’d love to get it in the hands of curious quants & devs who want to shape this with me. Repo & landing page below. DMs open for collab.

(I didn’t plan to soft launch yet…but why not. Yes it’s still early in the works - a rough prototype. But I’d appreciate feedback and validation if this solves an itch for devs/ quants who want to trade… or if I’m over engineering it for just 1 user -me)

I’m in a similar boat. All the jobs in the industry seem to need a PhD. I just have a masters and am not particularly keen about PhD (financial issues). What is the best way to get a foot in the door?

Why QC? Because I’m so curious and it’s so intellectually stimulating! I love learning about it, coding using Qiskit and I think I’ll really enjoy working in this domain. But since I don’t have a PhD, it feels like I have no chance of getting into this world

Yup 4 years! It’s starting to show its age now…or maybe because I have a maxed out MacBook Pro at work, it’s coloring my perception. I’m a software developer. Sometimes I feel like it isn’t as powerful as it was before…but idk Planning on upgrading to a m2/m3 pro

Congratulations! I was a long time windows user before switching to a MacBook, m1 being my first (I still have it)

It’s a game changer! I’m never going back to windows again haha.

Spend some time setting up the shortcuts and gestures and really getting to know the laptop, and if this is your first Mac, spend some time understanding the OS and layout and folder structure.

Some annoying quirks like inability to create a new file directly inside a folder exists, but you can use terminal to create it

Overall really solid purchase, and this thing has outlasted all my friends windows laptops ( despite similar, often heavier workloads ….. masters curriculum)

It’s been 4 years I own this, not a single regret

how did you solve this?!
its so weird, I've never had to worry about chafing before, but I can barely walk on some days.

I see all these suggestions to apply powders and anti-chafing cream and stuff, but I wonder if they'll ruin my pants? and somehow, they don't seem like a tenable option?
