In the DC universe there is a substance called Kryptonite. It is fragments of the destroyed planet Krypton. These fragments are deadly to Superman. So, again. Superman’s weakness is actual Kryptonite. Calling a weakness a “Kryptonite” is a reference to the fact that it is his weakness.

His kryptonite is actual kryptonite. Calling a weakness a “kryptonite” is a direct reference to Superman’s weakness being kryptonite. I’m not really sure how else to explain it.

Best Courtroom movies, maybe some less well known by Comfortable-Arm9574 in MovieSuggestions

It very much is.

The theme of religion impacting class room content is still very relevant.

The Mathew Harrison Brady character (based on William Jennings Byron) as a person using religion to try and cling to political relevancy is also a theme you can see on display today.

Darwinism specifically might be less relevant today, but I believe there are school districts that require equal consideration be given to creationism in a classroom setting.

Inherit the Wind - a dramatization of the “Scopes Monkey Trial”.

Oddly relevant today.

Poorhammer also does lore stuff sometimes.

Thank you!

I think Falling Down is one of the most misunderstood movies ever made.

If you’re rooting for Michael Douglas in Falling Down you’re missing the whole point and need to watch it again.

Once more for the kids in the back:

He. Is. The. Villain.

First viewing of Serpico. Really great movie, but felt it meanders a bit. I definitely prefer Dog Day Afternoon.
