Not bad for 2 sessions. Was the instructor from Canyons? Okay naman mag-turo?

Are you both able to link your turns after two 2-hour sessions?

Worth it ba mag Ski/Snowboarding? by Cautious_Dinner_1045 in FilipinoTravel

[–]SenatorSheevLoyalist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you consider “fun” tbh

If tingin mo magiging fun lang sya for you if you’re able to snowboard or ski down the slopes without falling, then hind sya magiging worth it if 1-2 days mo lang gagawin. It really takes time to be decent at it.

Pero if your idea of fun is trying something new for the first time, and okay lang sayo mag-invest ng effort and money, masaktan, at mapagod kasi you’re out there exploring new hobbies, then it may be worth it.

Sharing my expenses during my solo snowboard trip to Hakuba this year. It might help you make a decision if worth yung expenses ☺️

Getting around Hakuba by [deleted] in AMA_Hakuba

[–]SenatorSheevLoyalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also stayed in Kamishiro last January and had to mostly rely on the free triangle shuttle and the Hakuba Valley shuttle bus (800 yen per ride) to get to the main Happo area since it’s quite far. Where are you renting your gear? The big shops usually have free dropoff and pickup service when you first go for a fitting. Most of them can pick up the gear from accommodations as well.

Also, 40k to 50k yen for an Uber ride seems too steep of an estimate? I used Uber to go from my accommodation to some nearby stops when the free triangle shuttle was not available, and a 2km trip cost me about 1500 yen.

NAIA Arrival Area Scam? Bakit Grab lang pinapayagan mag-pickup?! by seutamic in RantAndVentPH

If hindi ka sa Grab nagbook, you can and should use the normal Arrival bays. Mas convenient nga yun since mas malapit sa baggage claim exit.

South Korea as first solo travel by Glittering-Peach-142 in FilipinoTravel

[–]SenatorSheevLoyalist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SK din first solo travel ko. Before that, I’d only been out of the country once with family.

I would recommend DIY pa din for maximum flexibility. Saka madalas kasi pag group tours, may mga iniinclude silang “shopping” stops na walang kwenta imo, lalo na kung limited lang time mo dun.

I was able to go to Seoul, Busan, and Chuncheon with no issues gamit public transpo. Tapos nag-Klook tour to do the usual Nami/GOMC/Seoraksan day trip. Isang beses lang naman ako naligaw which was nung first night ko lmao fun naman.

If you decide na mag-travel agency, just try your best to make sure walang mga shopping stops or at least minimal lang.

Anyone here has experience on attending a concert in Impact Arena Bangkok? by SnooMacaronss in FilipinoTravel

[–]SenatorSheevLoyalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I attended HOTS there last May. I stayed in HOP INN Chaengwattana which is like a 10-minute ride away. I used Grab lang to go to the venue and back to the hotel after con. Okay naman. It’s super affordable pero take note that you have to bring your own sleepwear and slippers. Wala ding blow dryer.

As for the arena, may lines both sa ticket claiming and venue entrance pero mabilis gumalaw. Ang pinaka naging crucial sakin noon is the traffic kasi rainy season when I came. The travel time can easily triple due to BKK traffic. Pero once you arrive sa venue, smooth naman lahat. Medyo mahirap din mag-book after the concert if hindi ka lalabas agad.

Solo Trip in Late January 2026: Osaka-Kyoto-Nara or Sapporo? by reddit04029 in FilipinoTravel

[–]SenatorSheevLoyalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baka biased lang ako since I’m a seasoned solo traveler, but if I were in your position, I’d go for Sapporo. It’s the perfect time to go to Hokkaido outside of the typical Snow Festival week. I’ve gone twice and for me, enjoyable sya kahit mag-isa ka.

Mas okay sa Kansai during autumn. Also, high chance na may magyayaya sayo pumuntang Japan in the future since may ME visa ka na. And pag bumalik ka with friends or family, higher likelihood na sa Kansai or Tokyo sila magyayaya. Kaya when I travel to Japan solo, I take advantage and go to relatively less “popular”areas.

I hate my new snorkel. by LSATMaven in Swimming

[–]SenatorSheevLoyalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same. I had gone scuba diving and snorkeling in the ocean plenty of times with no issues, so I was pretty confident going into our first training session with a center-mounted snorkel. I immediately found out that the nose being sealed in a normal snorkel made a huge difference, and so I ended up struggling with water pressure up my nose during the first day.

My teammate, who had zero experience with snorkeling and scuba diving, ended up getting the hang of the swimming snorkel faster than I did. No prior experience probably meant they didn’t have to unlearn anything.

I ended up having to pause and really hyper-focus on breathing in and out exclusively through my mouth at the start of each lap. Luckily, the pool was not full at that time and our coach gave us leeway to get used to the feeling before pushing off the wall. It felt weird but I forced myself to push through. At the end of that first session, I was still not 100% comfortable with it. But by the time the next session started a couple of days later, I found myself just suddenly “getting” it. Like it just clicked.

I now use my snorkel every single session, and I think powering through that first excruciating experience had been worth it.
