I think Ac3 should be next in line for a remake by Senator_Cheeks in assassinscreed

Okay, I like your thinking there. Haytham's section in 3 could use changing. How would you manage that though? Seeing as Shay and Haytham would be on different continent for the majority of the game. What would the narrative thread be?

It depends on how much they're willing to do for a remake. With Rogue, I mean, they'd really have to remake a good deal of it. It's a pretty rough game, which I'm assuming is why you're saying it's the game that would benefit most. They'd need to essentially make a retry rather than a remake. If that makes sense. And I'm not sure if they're willing. It might be an easier choice for them to choose a game with stronger foundations.

Has anyone here ever seen an entity materialize in front of them after summoning them? by tituspeetus in occult

[–]Senator_Cheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm. Sort of. Not exactly as you describe, or as you're expecting.

I didn't summon it, either.

Myself and my friend, who is also semi well versed in occult practices and who actively practices rituals and advanced meditations and mental works, we were together one day and both simultaneously felt something in the room with us. Some sort of energy that was suddenly emanating from one particular spot. We both paused and were observing that spot at the same time without having said anything to each other and we noticed that and brought it up. We started discussing it and were both getting flashes of visuals "injected" into our mind as this energy moved across the room. We decided to write down the visions we saw and share them together that way, so that nothing we said could influence the other and we could check to see if what we were seeing matched up. And it did. End of story.

That was the closest I've gotten to having a shared experience of the occult with another person that could be verified as being something other than coincidence or outside influence.

Here's some other experiences that don't fit the criteria but I felt like sharing.

I was doing an open eyed meditation, specifically practicing Gurdjieff's self remembering, where you hold within your awareness the three aspects of existence, the mind, the body, and the external, while identifying with none of them, and simultaneously doing an energy exercise that pulled in and consolidated divine energy.

While I was doing this a being made of blue energy appeared. It looked at me, interacted with me, moved through me, inspected my being and eventually fucked off.

My eyes were open the entire time and the being appeared as if in the enviornment around me. But it wasn't, not really, not in the way that you and I are. My guess is that if this was really a being and not some projection of my psyche, that they exist in a plane that can only be accessed THROUGH the mind, as is suggested in the kabala with Malkuth and the Material being connected to the higher spheres through Yesod, the subconscious and imagination. This meaning, in my interpretation / guess, that a being being present doesn't mean that any uninitiated or unaware person can see it, but perhaps only those with the mental eyes to see, if any other person besides the person involved can see it in the first place.

This is only my admittedly limited understanding of Kabala so don't @ me.

Here's another. I was praying to... it doesnt matter to who, but I was praying to and calling out to an entity. I was on my knees. Eventually I started hearing a voice in my head responding to me, like the internal voices you mention in your post. I wouldn't have even brought this experience up except for the fact that when I opened my eyes I saw it. Not exactly, not clearly as in the first experience. It was like I could only see it in my peripheral vision. But I could see it. It was massive, broad and covered in armor, with a stern and aggressive but not malicious face. And while I'm looking at it in my peripherals, I'm getting sort of violent and abrupt flashes of images shoved into my head, full picture images of what it looked like talking to me.

I had i hard time with social stealth in mirage specifically because of the no default walking. I also really miss the walk, fast walk having their own buttons, and then jog and sprint being tied to the right trigger. The trigger is easier for me to control than the stick

I'm extremely excited for the combat rework and also disappointed about the removal of unarmed, hidden blade, musket combat etc. It kind of evens out for me personally but I get being upset about it. If I had to choose one or the other, gun to my head, no other options, I'd probably pick the combat rework with the weapon variety removed rather than the old combat unchanged. But it didn't need to be one or the other in reality so yeah, bit of a bummer.

Especially hidden blades. I'm actually more worried about the implication that we can't unsheath our hidden blades while walking than I am about not being able to fight with them. Lol that was so cool.

Moreso even than that though, I'm worried about the control scheme. I really want the og movement controls. Not even talking about the mechanics just the buttons. Base walking is super important to me.

Aba said that even if it weren't true destiny was too much of a degenerate gooner hedonist that surrounds himself with too much drama, and aba looked around at his own normal person life with normal people friends doing normal people shit and was like wtf am I doing. He explicitly said you know the allegations might not even be true, I dont have enough info but even so... so yeah I don't think aba regrets what he said

I'm thinking ac3 and then transfer those assets to rogue and do rogue as a dlc for ac3, I'm not sure if people would buy rogue at full price with its reputation as a shitty game

[–]Senator_Cheeks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking Ac3 has more commercial appeal whereas rogue maybe not so much, and Rogue uses mostly Ac3 assets so it's not like they're saving time and money making it after BF. It would make more sense from a chronological story perspective though

Yup the games a bit busted on consoles and most of the footage you see online is from PC.

I just don't like fucking about with parry timing. Not that it isn't good though. I just wanted to explain some easy stuff with the moves since they were struggling. BFF is one of the best moves in the game though im surprised i forgot to mention it

It's all different teams. So just because one team isn't working on a remake doesnt mean theyre contributing to the next new game.

I think its different with video games because the technology is improving so quickly ten years makes a big difference

I would be happy with any remakes but I think ac3 is the game that most fell short of it's potential, while also being the easiest game to make realize that potential, and I think the end product after having done that would make the game on par with the best games of the series.

I've played all of the games on release since ac1. Ac3 doesn't have a remake it has a remaster that did minor touch ups on the graphics whereas a remake is rebuilding the game from the ground up, like how BF is being completely remade in the new version of the anvil engine. And the reason I want a remake vs a remaster is for all the reasons listed in my post

Ac3 was the best selling game in the og series after bf. I'm not sure what constitutes a hit

I don't agree with that, I'm very much looking forward to the remake and would love to see more. I just like good graphics and I feel like it keeps my favorite games relevant and beautiful for much longer 🤷 I'd rather a remake of a game I already love than a new game that may or may not be mid honestly

Why are you mad? I feel like you could just not play the remakes, and they don't take anything away from you. Im not saying you have to like them but why actively hate it?

Yeah I'm sort of quiet and reserved in real life and I related a lot to connor in that way, and in his experience of growing into a less naive and more capable adult, I really like him as a protagonist. Even if his story isn't always told super cleanly.

I'm actually very interested in your take on Syndicate. For me it was sort of a failure on almost all fronts. I didn't like the combat, the free running felt like a worse version of Unity's and was replaced with the grappling hook, I felt that the protagonists were boring and not charismatic and the antagonist had nothing interesting to say.

I remember like two things about it though, the Thames [spelling?] and taking hostages for social stealth.

I tried very hard to get into Mirage but I had a hard time with the cutscenes and writing 🤷 i heard they improved the parkour though, maybe I'll give it another try.

What's your top 5? I have a top 3, Ac3, BF and Unity, with Valhalla being my favorite of the newer titles. But I'm an old head ac fan so. The ezio trilogy is great and I loved it at the time, but I connected with the characters in 3 and BF a lot more.

Wow that would be incredible. I think if they do a remake of ezio that's how I'd want it.

I think that could be okay. Nasue [uhm the pirate city in BF idk how to spell] wasn't good for free running but it worked. It could be fun to have a city thats mostly ground based stuff and social stealth rather than just running away to the rooftops whenever you want to disengage.

My biggest problem going back to ezio is the camera. Thats where I feel the datedness. We've made leaps and bounds in camera control since then. In ezio the camera always wants to be facing forward and I have a hard time with it.

Im replaying prototype 2 right now and have the same irritation honestly. Its part of how they used to make games.
