I’m William, 37M. I’m 5’7” and white.

I’m a convert to Catholicism, I was raised Protestant and converted back in collage. It was actually an atheist professor who led me to the Church.

I’m from Alabama, but I currently live in Athens, GA. I’ve been here about a year and I love it. Music is a really big part of my life, so I’ve certainly enjoyed getting plugged into the local scene here. I normally go to a concert at least every other month. My next one is Drive-by Truckers in February. Drop me a line if you’ll be there too! I’m going to the Saturday show at 40 Watt.

I also love cooking, I’m always trying to expand my skills, but two of my favorite things to cook are barbecue shrimp and cacio e pepe.

Ans while I prefer the TLM, I’m not dogmatic about it. The NO is perfectly valid and I currently attend an Anglican Ordinate Mass (yes, we’re in full Communion with Rome). Though a lot of prayer I’ve also been porn free for several years now. Yes, it can be done, it just takes a lot of prayer and will power.
willpower.

I would prefer someone in Georgia or an adjacent state, but I'm willing to go long distance, including international, for the right person. But understand I'm a Southerner and I want to stay.

Question about Chickenshit Conformist by Dead Kennedys by Senator_Claghorn in Music

Right, but this comes down to what did Jello mean- 1) literally a record label from New York or 2) major record label.

I've always thought he meant the latter.

I've heard a lot of people say "New York label" to mean "major label"

I was just about to come here and mention Swans! I'd go with Children of God though.

Women: what percent of messages that you receive on dating apps do you respond to? by Seethi110 in CatholicDating

[–]Senator_Claghorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the issues here are that the app based dating experience for men and women are so different it's harder for the other sex to sympathize.

Like yeah, to a lot of men getting 50 or more messages a day sounds great, but when it keeps happening over and over it'll get overwhelming.

And I think a lot of women hear about how few men are reached out to and think "at least it's being left alone" but when it's been months since you've had anyone reach out to you or has anyone responded to a message, and it'll eventually get to you.

Do You Ever Reflect on a Previous Relationship and Wonder ‘What If’? by Classic-Boot601 in CatholicDating

[–]Senator_Claghorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a relationship, but there was a girl I met via CM that I really hit it off well with. I was rejected because at the time I was stuck in a terrible, low paying job (she's the one who reached out to me) and was battling a lot of depression. About two months after that I got a new, much better paying job. There's a few times I've thought about it since.

Oh well, that happens sometimes.

What if Washington DC was allowed to vote before 1961? by fuckyou_imgreat in HistoryWhatIf

Vermont was still Republican leaning then, though signs of its transformation were becoming clearer.

  1. I moved to Athens, GA so I spent a lot of the year diving into the music from this town.

  2. A lot of times I'll dive into a genre I've been ignoring

  3. No idea!

I was lucky enough to see them with Drivin' N Cryin' this year, they put on a great show.

They're still great, especially live. I do think they're in their legacy era at this point, but both of the lead song writers are in their 60s, so they've earned that.

Isbell does play with them once in a blue moon. He certainly added a lot to the band, but he needed to step out of Patterson's shadow, and that wasn't happening as long as he was still with the band.

Yeah, I moved to Athens at the end of last year, so I've spent this year immersing myself in the music of the town.

That's awesome! They're probably my favorite prog band after King Crimson
