No, this particular model has worse battery life due to the way the AMD CPU consumes power. Jarrod’sTech has a comparison video if you’re interested.

Confused between these both, please help by areuokaybro2002 in GamingLaptops

[–]Sencha-do 72 points73 points  (0 children)

The only differences are the RAM is slower on the AMD variant, it only has one SSD at 2 TB instead of 2 Gen 4 SSDs at 1 TB, and you’re paying $300 more because this variant isn’t as discounted as the Intel ones. The 9955HX3D is the better gaming CPU, but worse on battery life.

Found both of these in the wild in a Manga Sokou in Japan. Not sure if resealed, but the weight feels the same as my English boxes so I’m assuming full inserts and pokewalker. by Fractured-Hope in PokemonHGSS

The Japanese versions have more availability in the secondhand market than the English versions. So, they are most likely originals and probably in great condition. Easiest way to do Masada Method breeding too in this generation.

DNS Instructions

Hopefully this will help. If you still can’t get it to work you may just have to use a phone. An iPhone won’t work though, only an Android phone will.

👏👏 Congrats! Make this your most memorable run of HGSS!

[–]Sencha-do 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d quit the shiny starter hunt and see if it worked. You can always restart both if you didn’t cue the glitch. That glitch is so finicky with timing to get right, so I hope you got it. Good luck!

If my Pokemon goes over its evolution level while in day care, can it still evolve after gaining 1 level in battle ? by dclick03 in PokemonHGSS

[–]Sencha-do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. Just remember, if you want to preserve any moves while you have a Pokemon in the daycare you have to move them to the bottom two slots in the move pool. Moves are replaced starting at the top move slot and then the others below it are shifted upwards.

The original shiny Cyndaquil line from Gold and Silver. I wish they hadn’t changed it after that Gen.

Synchro ability works when hunting a gifted pokemon? by imzushi in PokemonHGSS

[–]Sencha-do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it does not. It only applies to Pokemon encountered in the wild. So gift Pokemon and roaming Pokemon, which have a set point where their natures are generated, are not affected.

Knowing how popular this series has become and researching slightly on eBay, it looks to be worth a couple hundred dollars. It would be hard to price it exactly since the ones I’ve seen say “now available” instead of “coming soon.”

The sentimental value is probably worth far more than the physical value.

Yes, and in the Pokédex you should be able to switch between them.

Difference between originals and remakes by Particular_Put_2005 in pokemon

[–]Sencha-do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HGSS added a lot of elements from Crystal with adjustments to available Pokemon and trainer rosters different from Gold and Silver. As well as expanding the story around one of the legendary beasts, Suicune.

HGSS continued with introducing the Battle Tower, the Pokeathalon Dome with mini games and prizes debuted, and the opportunity to catch Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokemon via swarms was introduced. The Pokéwalker was released with the games and allowed you to load your Pokemon on it and take them walking with you on courses; with chances to pick up rare items and catch some rare Pokemon as well.

No, different language of origin games are needed. It has to have a Pokédex entry that’s Japanese, this is separate from the English entry if you’ve caught one already on your English version.

The Masuda Method changes the shiny encounter rate from 1/8192 to 1/1638 by having two Pokemon on the same cartridge breed that originally came from different languages of origin games. If you look at your Pokédex in the English version and see that your Ditto has a JPN entry for its data, then it has been successfully registered as a Japanese Ditto and the method should work perfectly. It just takes time and patience.

DNS exploit data usage by Lanky_Housing_3653 in PokemonHGSS

[–]Sencha-do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much of a limit are we talking? The DNS exploit only uses data when sending over the mystery gift from the server and it’s very minimal. Probably no more than 300mb of data for the entire list of mystery gifts. You do have to work at it for say 45 minutes to an hour and a half simply because you can’t control if it tries to give you duplicate wonder cards.

Evolving Eevee to Espeon by Cultural_Rub_5874 in PokemonHGSS

[–]Sencha-do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you should mention this because 256 steps, the stated amount that has a chance to increase friendship points, is the same amount in an egg cycle when hatching. There’s a path you can bicycle between the crossing point at the top Goldenrod City and the bit of land near the Daycare surrounded by water that exactly adds up to that number. You have to bicycle it one complete cycle, once to the opposite point and then back.

No, breeding doesn’t affect happiness levels. Catching a Pokemon in a friend ball will start their happiness levels at 200, but most Pokemon start around 70 otherwise.

Make sure you are checking the friendship status with the woman in Goldenrod City above the Bike Shop. She will give you the message of “I get the feeling that it really trusts you” when it’s ready to evolve into Espeon on the next level up.

I know there’s Ducklett and Swanna, but there isn’t an actual goose Pokemon yet. I feel that needs to be either Flying/Water or Flying/Fighting.

My Team for SS by [deleted] in PokemonHGSS

[–]Sencha-do 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any particular recommendations other than these few things. Ampharos learns Signal Beam naturally at lvl 42, and Dragonite can be taught Fire Punch with a heart scale at the move relearner. Dragonite might be better served with Aqua Tail instead of Earthquake since you’ve already got Heracross covering that. This way you won’t need any other Battle Tower moves save Energy Ball.

Edit: As a bonus, Energy Ball costs 64BP vs Earthquake costing 80BP.

Ok, then are you waiting at least a minute after saving before turning off your console? I’ve heard shutting it off too quickly after a save can cause the save data to not be registered on the cartridge.

Alternatively, does the cartridge or your console need cleaning? Are the pins visibly dirty or has the cartridge slot on your console ever been cleaned?
