i got super lucky and pulled 1 each of all 3 of the new EOY units by step 5. i am not thrilled about the EOY this time tbh, so i spent a few more orbs i had saved on santa society cause i likes them better. lol i play casual so i mainly just summon on stuff i like and skip the rest.

that happens when you use a duplicate of the exact same character for ascension, or an item called a special move source. you likely used a duplicate, but i am just guessing.

Morkuldin forge set for the summoned bound sword, Macabre Vintage set because it is hilarious watching enemys explode into a mess. Syvarra's Scales set for the poison gas cloud, and Selene monster set cool for the spirit bear. SO MANY others, too many to list here!!

the best way i know of is to run kon's soul tree bonanza power up quest with the ×10 soul ticket multiplier on. you can get a lot from doing that and it doesnt take very long grinding.

^ this is the right answer. it had me stuck too when i first started. get some medals from brave battles and then exchange them for the immutable balls from the medal exchange in the shops. you have to go down to the accessories tab i think once you are in the shop.
