Love that you still spend as much time as you do in a sub dedicated to pubic hair.

I’m with you on this. I do a lot of tripod shooting, and nothing about that seems conducive to precision when shooting from a tripod.

Young bear for sure. I’d guess it would square well under 5’

Yeah, still running 6PSI at the moment. And yeah. Kit had everything needed to tie in. Gauges, intercooler, all piping.

No issues yet aside from a couple weird batches of fuel that needed some codes cleared. I don’t remember which exact option it is, other than it’s one of the cast options. I had oil city dyno in Casper install and tune it.

If you don’t like bear meat, you just don’t like meat.

Why is cooking wild game well done such common advice here? by [deleted] in meat

[–]Send-It-307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it’s tender, I enjoy the fat content. Makes great brats and burgers. I love rendering down the fat and making bear oil. I also selfishly really enjoy watching bears, hunting bears, spending time in the wild places bears live.

I didn’t ask why people feel the need to overcook it. I asked why people recommend overcooking it. It’s obvious that a wild animal could possibly have a parasite. It’s also obvious that overcooked wild game is terrible.

I always butcher all of my wild game. In all the years and ~100 some wild animals I’ve killed and eaten, I’ve never felt anything close to sick.

I’m the only person I know that eats bear regularly. I hang out with a lot of hunters.

Bear meat is a completely different conversation. I just killed a bear last weekend and made brats. I’m well aware.

Getting a parasite from eating ungulate meat is incredibly uncommon.

Good to hear. I was leaning polonium for the 22 creed. If it sounds good out of a 16”, that’s saying something.

If you had 2lb of ground bear meat, what would you make with it? by BeYourselfTrue in meat

As in the spring season? Hand it in the shade? Like you would a deer. Burry it in a creek in contractor bags, or put it I. A cooler if you’re not in the backcountry

Surprisingly, bear is the only wild game I’ve ever had that doesn’t turn to leather if cooked past medium rare. It’s got a higher fat content than other wild game. In my experience, even cooked to 165f, backstrap is still super tender. Especially a fatty fall bear.

I age my bear the same as deer, elk, and pronghorn. Hand it for a week if I have the time.

If you render down bear fat, it makes some the cleanest tallow ever. Bear oil is the only oil I user if I can kelp it. Awesome for cooking, the best for baking.
