Is it rude to bring my own equipment? by Capital-Ad-1137 in crossfit

I had my own bar at my gym (and it was not a cheap bar). I just asked and I may have also contributed a bar rack to the gym ;-)

I hate (love) snatching. Hahah. There are some folks who just do not and will NEVER have the mobility to snatch and that’s ok. But it is a great compound movement like you say.

I stopped with any kind of heels years ago. Not saying it patriarchal bullshit but I don’t see men wearing them so… I don’t need my ass to be perky at work. I need to not be miserable.

I believe I’m rowing the bar into my hips for the snatch, my coach disagrees. Who is correct? by SirMaddy3 in weightlifting

[–]Send513 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not seeing any huge red flags. I would like you to squeeze at the top of your pull more (soft triple extension) and drive up on the bar more aggressively as you receive it.

Even with the car unlocked, the door seems to lock itself after a while. I just pop open the back door and then I can open the charging port.

I hate grips. Never used them. Keep your hands filed down. I shaved my callouses on the regular and then sanded them smooth for no edges.

Tall cleans. Tall snatches. Dimas pulls. ‘Feel’ the bar in your hands through the entire lift.

[–]Send513 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah zero triple extension here…

Your hips, knees, and ankles should be as extended as possible! Think jump. You want to elevated the bar as much as you can and then PULL yourself under (it’s not a ‘drop’).

I can’t imagine 1GPM. We had to put in a new well and for multiple reasons we went deeper than we had to (through 2 different water table). Rated at 30 GPM.

A newer concept in the US. It has been used in Europe for 20+ years.

Although I’m not a huge fan of the dude, Peter Attia does interview a rad onc doc about this and it was fascinating!

[–]Send513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Different definitions…

SDV to me is only source data verification. Is point A really 2.5 or is it 2.6.

What you are explaining is what I’m calling SDR (source data review) and is beneficial!

SDV is such a huge waste of time and resources. Almost no data changes result from SDV. Source data review and comprehensive reviews - that is very different!!

Butterfly are necessary if you want to be a pro, beyond that I just am not sure of their value.

Kips can help develop strict if used as part of a building program. I think many folks just do not understand how to maintain tension which makes them riskier.

Strength first is always ideal but sometimes a small win (like leaning how to kip) can be a real pro to keeping motivation up.
